Has anyone seen Creep (2004)? it's from Christopher Smith, who also directed Triangle. I can only find Creep (2014) on streaming.
Haven't logged on in a minute...seeing Bezos definitely made me think I was in the wronnnnggg thread. lol. Hope y'all stayin' spooky.
I had no idea Chuck Russell still made movies. This looks really bad, possibly in a fun, campy way like the OG Witchboard?
Finally finishing some stuff from last weekend. Unfortunately the server is still down that I was watching I Know What You Did Last Summer on, but I did finish Zombie's Halloween 2. On one hand, I don't think I quite hate it like I used to. 31 is definitely worse. On the other hand...Michael Myers lifts a car in this. And is shot by snipers in slow motion. And then they also shoot the Laurie Strode stand-in. So calling it a mixed bag is pretty generous, lol. Gonna redo the DGG trilogy now.
The Ugly Stepsister was good. Not at all what I was expecting tbh and kind of an awesome vibe. I think I was intentionally delaying getting around to it for fear of it being unnecessarily cruel or mean spirited so I was pleasantly surprised. Loved how it flipped the whole cinderella concept on its head from what I expected based on the trailers. Also, grade A music throughout.
Okay, mid-year top 10: 1. Bring Her Back 2. Companion 3. The Monkey 4. 28 Years Later 5. Sinners 6. Final Destination Bloodlines 7. The Ugly Stepsister 8. Opus 9. Death of a Unicorn 10. Until Dawn Last 3 are probably interchangeable tbh
got Presence on Bluray, rewatched it, still so good. i looked up the budget for this, i still can't believe something that took only $2 million to make was so effective and moving
1. Bring Her Back 2. Final Destination Bloodlines 3. Sinners 4. Companion 5. Heart Eyes 6. Until Dawn 7. Clown in a Cornfield 8. Death of a Unicorn 9. The Monkey
i still haven't seen corn in a clown field. i like corn but i don't like clowns and don't want to see a field of them
DGG's Halloween trilogy definitely goes off the rails (for better or worse), and while I'm on record as not loving Ends, I have to admit that the first 2018 sequel really nails both the tone I love in the original as well as some of the brutality of Zombie's versions. There are some really great shots of The Shape in the background that are not signaled by musical stings or anything, along with that primo tracking shot. Just a great Halloween flick imo.
Not horror, but I finally watched August in the Water and while I don’t quite know what to make of it, it made me feel all sorts of things. Definitely recommended.
