hahaha, for the record we added everyone's recommendations to our watchlist, and a lot of them looked intriguing! i think we were looking for something familiar/lower stakes, hence why we put on KvA. we're excited to check the others out!
Oh yeah! I guess I could have posted and spoiler'd them from the beginning, lol. 1. The Ghost and Mr. Chicken 2. WNUF Halloween Special 3. Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon 4. Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell 5. Dawn of the Dead (1978) 6. Evil Dead (2013)
Oh that’s nice. I was showing my kids Monster House and they loved it. Couldn’t find Paranorman on streaming sadly when I looked a couple weeks ago
Have you had THE scare spoiled for you, or did you go in blind? I watched for the first time a couple weeks ago and it made it less effective having seen that scene in best scare compilations.
Not going to say I've abandoned my Gore-Us list because I just watched The Blob last night, but considering my go-to server is down for stuff that isn't streaming I've accepted I'm not going to cross the finish-line this year. I have landed on Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood for Halloween night though, and if I can make it happen, I'm going to take a half day on Friday and try to catch Bugonia and Black Phone.
The first time I put it on I had no idea what a masterpiece it was since I don't rly hear people talk about it and I was blown away. Brad Dourif is so GOATed
I was surprised to see a low meta critic and rotten tomatoes score. Movie was legitimately great 90’s horror.
dug this. maybe not the most profound thing story-wise, but very well-executed with great performances and set design (and if it had to lean into any tropes, it leaned into the ones it needed to). if del Toro is stepping away from live action, this is a good way to go out.
