i'm hopefully hosting a halloween party with a few close friends next week but it'll start way earlier than 8pm haha (and mostly consist of us playing board games bc we're boring like that)
M as rdi Gras Massacre is so cozy and sleazy at the same time, lol. I really need early splatter recs because this is the closest I've found to something feeling like Herschell Gordon Lewis Where are people watching Retribution?
had to watch the Ring again after all the talk in here, I love the guy doing card tricks working the hotel check-in. great one-scene character
Sending it with Jack-O this morning. No clue what it is but it’s got Linnea Quigley and should satisfy the Death Harvest category This is awesomely bad Edit: Okay, huge rec here. A nonsensical Troll 2 esque Halloween flick with Linnea Quigley and John Carradine. Apparently Carradine’s scenes were filmed yearssss before he died so this was the last movie to feature him (it came out like 6 years after his death). Chekov’s faulty toaster and rug make for a hilarious death scene that I had to watch several times. Also they absolutely only got Linnea to do a ridiculously unnecessary shower scene that has no place in this movie at all. Lead kid is the directors son and is real real bad in several key scenes
Awesome video. Almost wish I didn't watch it because it obviously discussed the twist and I've never even heard of the film (R-Point), but it's definitely on my list now.
Watched the Monkey last night and me and my bf both loved it. We don't always agree on horror movies but both thought it was so great. Anything about processing death and grief is sort of my jam these days as I try to process my own feelings on the subject. But I thought it was so compelling and funny while also being dark. Tonally was perfect.
Yea, I actually enjoyed The Monkey more the second time around. I was suspecting something with a little more depth, but once I settled into the kills and absurdity of it all, it worked just fine.
anybody got any good angry horror recs? roommate fucked me and my friend over hugely, looking for ways to vent that won't get me in legal trouble
Dang sorry to hear that @Rowan5215! Super Dark Times is probably pretty appropriate but I'd also throw out Mandy but I'm sure that is not new to you
Our cheapo theater is closing down at the end of the month so I'm gonna try and go a couple more times before they're finished. They are showing Him and Good Boy so I may try and catch both of those there.
thanks gang. I actually haven't seen either Super Dark Times or Mandy so I'll put em on the list, I just ended up watching The Faculty and Scream tonight though. needed those cosy faves
