Gourley and Rust just (lovingly) talked about how the movie makes no sense on their podcast, but is also just so thick with atmosphere and dread and goo that it's impossible not to love completely agree, I don't unsettle super easy from movie stuff (especially older movie stuff) but those sequences really get under my skin
It’s probably my second favorite Carpenter behind The Thing. I know people love it but I still consider it underappreciated.
WE ARE TRANSMITTING FROM THE YEAR ONE NINE NINE NINE it's such a great movie, rides the line between cheesy British serial and genuinely creepy horror. right up there with The Thing and The Fog for me
I watched Halloween 3 lastnight. As soon as I made peace with what it was and wasn't, I enjoyed it more. I liked it overall, but the plot was pretty dumb...
Please tell me what's dumb about Irish trickster gods harnessing the power of stonehenge to unleash a deadly prank on the town's children in addition to manufacturing robots, Brad
I am taking a page out of Paul Rust's book this year and attempting to host a sleepover party where each film gets progressively scarier. Thinking the lineup will be: - The Ghost and Mr. Chicken - WNUF Halloween Special - Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon - Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell - Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Evil Dead (2013) Kills me to cut Donnie Darko, but I only have so much time to work with (who knows if we'll even make it through these) and I'm not sure how it would hit in a group setting, despite being a GOATed Halloween flick.
To be fair, I don't think any of them will take me up on it and it will involve convincing my wife that our family should take the baby for the night, lol. So very tentative. Worst case...we take a virtual watch-party to the Discord.
a couple years ago, a few of us made a blanket fort, put a tv inside, and watched the first 4 Paranormal Activity movies inside of it all night while we ate pizza and chicken wings.
NOES 2 (just for how gay it is and Freddy running around a pool party), 3 (considered the best sequel in the franchise) Halloween 2 (picks up right where the first one leaves off and has that great Pasadena atmosphere in the beginning), 3 (really fun story that has nothing to do with the OG or Michael Myers), 4 (considered the best of the sequels) F13 2 (introduces Jason, probably the best film in the franchise), 3 (my personal favorite, some would say skip it, but it's where we get the Jason we know today), 4 (considered the best in the franchise outside of the first two), 6 (most fun in the franchise, more action, zombie Jason lives), 8 (he goes to Manhattan)
Think I’ll wait for streaming. Didn’t really like the first one much but the trailers for 2 at least seemed interesting lol
NoES 3 is amazing. My favorite from a very young age and it blew me away again when I rewatched it a few years ago.
Jason Takes Manhattan is the worst rated of the F13 series, but #1 in my heart. Halloween 6 is fun because it makes no sense and you get to see Paul Rudd's first film role.
