You know what? There are a lot of bad Saw movies, but you gotta hand it to them, they're more consistent in quality and tone than the Halloween sequels lol. They know what they're about.
I'm fairly certain I haven't seen a good portion of the Saw movies tbh. My knowledge of them is mostly based on this retrospective lol. I've seen Jigsaw and Spiral, but I'm not sure I saw anything passed 2 or 3.
I’ve only seen it once and it was in theaters. All I remember is that I walked out regretting spending money to watch it.
I wouldn’t be mad with Scream winning it all. 5 films and all are enjoyable with 4/5 of them being great. Having a consistent set of actors that I enjoy is a plus, too. While Halloween and Friday are both legacy franchisees they also have a few duds that I’d gladly never watch again.
I really don't care about the Saw movies lol. This round was mostly easy for me. Had to think a bit on Candyman vs Return of the Living Dead
Scream Predator Friday the 13th Texas Chainsaw Massacre Evil Dead Halloween - Really wanted to vote Saw tho Creepshow Candyman
For R3 I went with Scream Exorcist Friday the 13th V/H/S Evil Dead Halloween Creepshow Return of the Living Dead
Scream Predator F13 V/H/S Evil Dead Saw (don't ask my why lol Halloween is the correct answer) Creepshow Return of the Living Dead
I watched the Blade movies for the first time recently and the first one was very boring. The movies got dumber as they went but somehow were more enjoyable the dumber they were. The Scream movies are infinitely better though. Voting for Blade over Scream is fucking insane. I can only assume they’ve seen Blade and not Scream.
Round 2 results were almost perfect for my liking. Gonna dive into round 3 now and hoping for more of the sameeeeee.
Romero v F13 and ROTLD v Candyman were difficult for me. Purely in terms of actual franchises, I have only seen ROTLD and Candyman, so that just boiled down to which I liked more I suppose. This really is just reinforcing my need to see so many other classic franchise films though haha.
