The Resident Evil series is near and dear to a lot of people. And I say this as someone who initially hated the Paul WS Anderson series cause of the direction those movies went, being a huge fan of the video games. They kinda grew on me over time tho. I’ll still watch the first one any day. The most recent one was badass though and probably up there with Silent Hill as far as adaptations go. I still went with Dracula though cause it’s foundational day 1 stuff Edit: And by most recent, i am referring to the one that came out last year, not in the Paul WS Anderson series.
dang, did I miss the cutoff for this? stopped getting thread notifications for some reason and totally spaced on it
had to obstain from a couple of these where I hadn't seen both. and here I was thinking I was a well-educated horror dweeb, lmao. pretty happy with everything else though - Nightmare on Elm Street gang let's get this bread

I am ~ concerned~ about Final Destination vs. Romero's Dead. I love the FD films, but Romero's Dead deserves the respect
Even though it is a franchise bracket, It's still hard to separate the entirety of the franchise from one singular entry in some cases I think. Jaws was that way for me. I love the first one so much (top tier, one of my favorites) that I have come to love the sequels also (2 is good, but I realize 3 and 4 are considered garbage). I also came into Hellraiser much later and while I love what I have seen (first 3), I had to go with Jaws.
I love Hellraiser and like Hellraiser 2 (have not seen the third), but I have such found memories of watching the Jaws singles for WGAR that I had to vote with my heart. They're very cozy and dumb. Moment of silence for Child's Play
