I rate stuff but me and my sister share a profile so I get recommended a lot of weird stuff from what she watches

You can set it up to have two different profiles under the same account, that way you dont get recommended stuff that you dont care for.

I know but the whole family uses the same account and we hit the limit on number of profiles under one account so me and her share. We watch mostly the same things except she watches more ABC family/free-form and lifetime movies lol

I don't let her rate anything tho. She got mad cause I didn't give Glee 5 stars haha

Those must be some awesome recommendations to see. Something like Human Centipede and Anti-Christ next to Switched at Birth and Life Unexpected.

Netflix is usually right when they assume I'd rate something four or five stars. I make sure to rate anything I love five stars so it knows what I like. And the opposite as well.

Haha. That's actually like my feed. I watch all those ABC Family shows. Also, I think Like Unexpected was on The CW.

I think Netflix knows better than to recommend me human centipede lol or I hope it does. I get recommended a ton of like f-list horror movies and novelas and trashy teen TV dramas. The trifecta!

Thought the acting in The Invitation was fine. Love that they had the actor from Drew Carey show/Zodiac. When I saw him in it I knew what kind of movie I was in for.

  16. I mean, it is what it is. I was never quite drawn to those movies in the first place but I remember being pretty surprised at how non-graphic, and...fuck me, decent, the first one was (for what it was). And then I was roped into watching the second with friends without knowing much about it beforehand and it literally does away with everything that made the first one a semi-interesting film. The premise loses its shock factor and tries to make up for it by showing you lots of blood and literal shit. Half the movie is just indistinct screaming and crying. It's not nearly as self-aware or smart as it wants to be, and more than anything, it's not fun to watch, even with a group of friends and some drinks. Which leads me to believe even more that the first film was simply an anomaly.

edit: so i guess it depends on what you're watching it for, but from a critical standpoint, yeah, it's just really fucking gross with zero substance or positive qualities imho

Yeah it sounds like they fucked the second one up. I didn't have too high hopes for it that's why I hadn't watched it yet.

That actor terrifies me ever since Zodiac. To quote my sister on the movie, "As soon as he came into the picture, you know it's not going to be all psychological, SHIT IS GOING DOWN."

I love when he shows up in things but he'll always be Drew Carey's cross-dressing brother to me

I think the most annoying part of the movie for me was that after the gothika dude told his story more people didn't leave. U couldn't pay me to stay after that nope nope. Seemed so unbelievable

Their friend had been through a really difficult time with losing her son, it would be pretty mean if they all got up and left. I think one of the reviews for the movie put it well: "The Invitation works so well because it taps into our general distrust of the world around us and how our survival instinct has been muted and ignored in order to maintain the appearance of being polite." Besides, you could tell by their reactions they were pretty weirded out by it. Also, one of them did actually leave the house after that. It wasn't unbelievable at all imo

Well maybe that's why I don't like it cause idgaf enough about being polite to stay in a sketch situation like that lol. I'm always trying to get out social situations tho let alone a weird one. I know one of them left I just feel like irl more people would have. I'd have made an excuse and been outta there but maybe I'm just a jerk lol. I can't imagine any of the people I know staying either but I feel like most people I know are flaky and flighty so that could factor in as well. I think we'd all side eye to each other and make an excuse to bounce lol. I'd have tried to think of convincing excuses to leave after the video but after the gothika dude's speech there'd be a kiana shaped hole in that wall

I get wanting to be there for a friend going through a tough time, though she claimed many many times she was better and happy in life. As soon as they start preaching to me like they did, I'm out. It is hard to pull the 'being nice to a friend who lost a child card' when the guy who saw through everything was her husband when the kid died and they all acted like he was insane and needed to chill out.
