Awesome. I kind of like that they’re going for a January release...may grow legs similarly to how the OG did after folks got through the holiday season.

the first two were already hits at the box office pre-Christmas release. I think Taken proved you can have a hit with a January release since there’s little competition

Oh okay. I knew that 2 was an immediate hit, but I always thought Scream 1 peaked in January.

 

I take that back. I double checked box office mojo and the first Scream was more of a sleeper hit (it was #4 its first weekend). I was in middle school when it came out and everyone was talking about so I assumed it was the biggest movie in the country at the time.



Lol, I saw Beavis & Butthead in theaters and it was such a product of its time I feel like most people have forgotten about it

 

Can’t wait for the new Scream movie. Love the franchise

 

I just bought Beavis and Butthead on vhs this week. Lol

 

Rewatching Mandy, I think I was in a bad headspace the first time I gave it a whirl. It's clicking much better this time around.

We summon the darkness was fun! The twists were kinda predictable, but I really enjoyed the cast and the aesthetic of it.

 

I enjoyed it quite a bit as well

 

It was a lot better than My Friend Dahmer. A step up for Marc Meyers!

 

Yeah, I watched My Friend Dahmer last week and something felt very...off about it, tonally. Kind of hard to put into words, but it didn't feel great.

 

That movie felt like it was going for the tone of JoJo Rabbit but was just flat in every regard.

 

Since the first three Japanese Ring movies popped up on Shudder a few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I have been making our way through those and now the Ju-On Grudge ones. Just watched Ju-On: The Grudge 2 and liked it a lot, probably more than the first

We're gonna get to Sadako Vs. Kayako, which I heard was awful but we're all in

 

Just watched the Shed and thought it was a tonal mess.

First 40-50 minutes is a pretty great premise and they do a good job building up the characters and aside from one too many unnecessary fake out scares I was really digging it...

...Then the rest of the movie happened.

I will say at least it didn't end up going full Dead Girl like I thought it might.

 

Wish I saw this an hour ago haha. Oof.
