The Banana Splits movie is dumb, but a fun gory time.

I don't love the resolve of the film, but the rest of it.. it's tone, performances, and beautiful Roger Deakins cinematography, solid.

didn't have time for a horror film yesterday (already fucking up my one a day haha), so I will have to do two today, ohhhh shucks haha. I did watch the zombie episode of Eli Roth's History of Horror on Shudder though and enjoyed that.

I've been watching Horror movies since like September 20th but so far for October:

    Oct 1 - Scream 2
October 2 - Silver Bullet and Troll 2

My gf has never seen Troll 2, or heard of it, and it's on prime so I had to show her. I forgot how hilarious that movie is.

Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

My first rewatch for this spooky month and I chose the 1999 version of The Mummy for two reasons one it is incredibly fun and secondly, I hadn't yet reviewed it on Letterboxd. Always enjoyed it and even 20 years later after multiple viewings, it still holds up primarily thanks to the spot-on casting and fun action. Now, I am sure some people will claim this hasn't got anything to it that is explicitly horror but along with a certain scene in The Sixth Sense and those goddamn scarabs my childhood in the early 2000s was filled with nightmares containing both. Big shame the sequels didn't live up to this as well that abomination that came out in 2017.

Those scarabs used to terrify me. Probably why I have an irrational fear of flesh eating animals to this day!!

The first and second Mummy movies are a lot of fun, the third is an absolute train wreck.

oooo we're talking about the 1999 Mummy movie?? I'm in hahah. god I love that and Mummy Returns so much. still think it would have been awesome to explore the other Universal Monsters in a similar fashion. could have even brought Rick along or cameos. and that ride is so fun! one of the only times we actually bought the family photo from the ride because it's right off the boost and catches you by surprise. boy our faces were priceless haha. think i'll buy The Mummy and Returns in 4k now haha. added to the October list!

    I was right. Prestigious

haven't watched anything spooky yet, my goals for October are:
    - Scream (+ maybe sequels)
    - The Shining
    - The Silence of the Lambs
    - Beetlejuice
    - Hocus Pocus

pretty small compared to those doing a movie per day this month but there's no way I could do that lol
I've never seen the first three so I'm hoping to get to those ones first!

I’m to the point now where if I watch Scream, then I almost have to watch 2 and 4.
