just my opinion, but i thought the book SUCKED. maybe i've just seen the movie too many times to separate it from my mind when i finally read the book, but the odd writing style and the seeming lack of ANYTHING happening in it really disappointed me. i honestly can't recall anything that happens in the book, but i believe it was very different from what the movie did and essentially is only the same based on the title and not the way the story plays out.

 

Y’all I am legitimately so excited to share this with you. I went to Salem Horror Fest this year and absolutely loved this lecture on horror as a form of resistance. The speaker, Jess Peacock, has edited the lecture into a written piece. It’s incredible even on paper.

Fair, it's different, but I enjoyed it. some areas dragged, but overall I thought it was good. the narrator was the author and he did a really good job as well, so perhaps that elevated it for me.

 

now that Halloween is officially upon us, what's everyone's selection today to celebrate??

I'll be reading some spooky comics: Jughead The Hunger, Deathhead, and the new 80 page one shot of Wytches.
and watching some movies: definitely going with Trick r Treat, and might watch Tales of Halloween on Netflix as well. we'll see what I add to my day after hearing everyone else's plans haha.

now if only the work day could end....

Went and saw the new Halloween for the second time last night, and today i'll be giving out candy at work. Then, i'm drinking heavily at a local bar called Backbar where they will have a DJ and I shall be Charlie Kelly hopped up on spray paint in his favorite pajamas.

That's awesome. I wanted to be this Charlie for a long time but a friend did it about 5 years ago. I feel I have given it enough time, and he also didn't do the spray paint nose so I think that'll make it more recognizable.
