Stuck In Evil Mode For 31 Days Prestigious

I’m two episodes into Haunting and I’m pretty unimpressed with this

Like I can see how they’re building things up with the pacing and what not but it’s just slow for me. I’m not really digging the acting much and the two episodes I’ve watched is just bland family drama with some jump scares sprinkled in. Granted, this is like two episodes in and I’m guessing it starts to pick up going forward but it hasn’t really been a good first impression to me personally so far.

    I Miss Jake W Prestigious

3 was the ep that really hooked me in. 4 and 5 both had their memorable scenes.

But I didn’t think episodes 1 and 2 were bland at all, so maybe it’s not going to be your cup of tea.

My gf and I just finished Hereditary. I can’t say I enjoyed it. I may watch it again knowing the ending .

No judgement ever! I loved every minute I was there (minus traffic and parking, something they really need to work on in that area.)

I had an unbelievably fun time. Very glad I did some research online for general opinions and reviews on locations, helped a lot. My girlfriend loved everything too. Some lines were long for tours but I feel like we got a lot of detail and information regarding the area just in talking to locals and reading, so no loss there. If I ever do wind up married I feel like Salem is great for couples who are into that type of a destination. Saw many couples there having a blast.

A few shops were tacky, but overall I really don’t have complaints. Would recommend to anyone on the fence about it.

saw The Nun this weekend. honestly I enjoyed it. not as good as The Conjuring movies, but thought it was a solid blockbuster horror film.

There are a few different reasons. That drive home from the party scene along with the scene with Toni Collete in the attic were absolutely brutal. Not that that makes the movie bad but I almost wish I didn't see that. As I've gotten older, I've started to enjoy these types of movies less and less.

I thought the scenes with Peter were kind of corny. The scene in the classroom reminded me of "Truth or Dare"

Neither of the kids looked anything like the parents. Again not a huge deal, but that took me out of the movie.

Lastly, I just didn't think this movie lived up to the hype. There were also some parts that you wouldn't have figured out unless you read interviews with the director. Also, I watched the Witch recently and this reminded me of that but I thought the Witch was a lot better

Awesome! I'm glad you guys had a good time. Based on talking to locals last year, they said the best time to go is the first weekend in October as it gets busier and busier every weekend as you get closer to Halloween. When we went it was packed but we went the weekend before Halloween.

I personally had no problem sorting out stuff in Hereditary. It doesn’t need to spoon feed you what’s happening. It became p clear to me by the end. Also since seeing it only for the first time three weeks ago I’ve seen people say the actor who played Peter is/was corny or bad. I completely disagree. I thought he did a fantastic job. Generally made me feel bad for him.

    Interesting.

I thought the classroom scene was done really well and that Wolff was great there. Some of his crying was a little over the top in other parts of the film, but his fear was very real (obviously) so I looked at it as if he was sort of transformed back into a small child in those times.

Like @Cameron said, I didn't have any issues sorting things out with this movie either. What parts are you talking about?

I have no idea how to do spoiler tags so I was trying to be vague haha. I didn't pick up that Charlie had been that way since birth and had no idea when she started being the way she was. If that makes any sense. Also, with the husband. Why did the book do that to him instead of the wife like it had earlier in the film. Again, no idea how to do spoiler tags haha.

I'm glad you liked it! I actually hate disliking movies because it makes me feel like I've wasted my time/money so I always go into them hoping to like it. I just couldn't get there.

Some of the scenes were obviously very disturbing and effective. I didn't enjoy the content (telephone pole) but I'm happy they went there. It was graphic but not unnecessary. Interesting movie but I can't say I'll go back to it or recommend it to anyone unless I know them very well lol

The head smash scene in the classroom made me cringe bad, but not in a this scene sucks kind of way. In the wow, that looks like it fucking hurt kind of way.

watched Terrifier last night and was surprised by how "eh" and bored i was by it.

lots of gore and feels and looks very Grindhouse-y, but the lack of a story and showing Ed the Clown (or whatever the fuck his name is) so much lessened the creepiness of him. also that he doesn't make any noise whatsoever when he gets hurt made me wonder if i sat on the mute button or something. very odd decision there.

should be noted that basic slasher-style movies like this have never done much for me and Terrifier continues that trend.

Demonic was pretty good. read that most refer to it as a poor man's Grave Encounters and that's pretty spot on. some of the stuff at the end didn't make a lick of sense, but hey, you do what you can. acting wasn't bad, the cast was pretty good (and everyone looked oddly familiar) but we don't actually see a lot of the kills or violence which made this feel more like a drama at times than a horror film.

While the theatrical version is nothing to write home about, the way the third act plays out in the Producer's cut is quite bad and thank whoever for pushing them to change it.

Just watched Trick R Treat for the first time and have to say it lived up to the hype. Definitely not as scary as I thought it'd be, but so much fun and perfect to get into the Halloween spirit.

I haven't seen Haunting yet but I am excited too, but I imagine getting horror in a series form would be pretty difficult to get it "right" with each episode. I'm excited just to be in that atmosphere until things start.
