I’m actually pretty ok with that list. Happy to see The Devils included, that’s a definite contender.

The only one I can think of that is a huge miss is the original Last House on the Left. That’s pretty much up there with I Spit On Your Grave, although certainly a better film.

Cannibal Holocaust has been coming up so much in this thread, it's now peaked my interest enough to seek it out and watch hopefully this week.

There definitely seems to be a big line in the sand in regards to people who've seen it. Good or bad, my interest is peaked and I feel a need to see it haha.

No, it’s actually awful and should never have been made. Not in a fun “so bad it’s good” it’s just a grimy snuff film.

I haven't seen it yet so idk why you're responding as if I am talking in defense of it?

It's a controversial movie. Cause I mean even if you take out the animal abuse and killing its still awful like I remember it being racist and depiction of rape and stuff it's just not good and I feel like most people watch it for the "novelty" and that's all it really has going for it

I don’t think it’s a movie that should be given the time of day or supported at all.

I know that it's controversial. I've read a lot about it and that is, in part, why I have yet to see it. It isn't a snuff film, though I don't support animal killing for sport and I did find it disturbing to know there were real animals filmed. More recently, when the film came up in conversation in here, I did some research and learned that the animals were consumed by the indigenous population where it was filmed.

I generally am drawn towards found footage films, or horror films that seem like they might be a challenge for me to watch. It is what it is, kind of a given for me being a horror fanatic that i'm gonna want to push the boundaries. The practical effects being so controversially realistic is my big draw.

Tusk was weird but I enjoyed it. More in a Kevin Smith has failed to be horror-y kinda way but it has its funny moments. If you are going to watch it then I would suggest going in knowing that it isn't Shaun of the Dead level.

  19. Most people will tell you no. I love it. But I also love horror-comedy, body horror, Kevin Smith, and the idea of artists doing something left field that they're passionate about (like Kevin Smith doing horror movies). So yeah, I'd recommend it, but it's definitely not for everyone haha.

edit: if camp isn't your thing and you're still interested in Kevin Smith trying his hand at horror, I'd highly recommend Red State.
