Hereditary trailer is awesome. I cannot wait to see how that one unravels because that trailer throws a LOT at you.

 

So... the Hereditary trailer just got pulled from all movies this weekend. I don't know why, but the studio seemed adamant that people not watch the version they released. I'm wondering if it accidentally had some sort of spoiler in it.

 

Some shots towards the end made it seem spoilery.

 

Estonian fantasy/folklore film. It looks bizarre, and idk if it's actually horror.

I watched Suburban Gothic last night. Plot's very weak but MGG and Kat Dennings nail the joke delivery throughout. Couldn't stop laughing.

 

Has anyone watched "Living Among Us"?

 

Watching Requiem on BBC. It's a good premise with some good intense moments. Hopefully the remaining 5 episodes keep the story fresh.

Seen the trailer for Hereditary. Wow. Having loved The Witch I just hope this lives up. It seems we never really get a "classic" horror these days, once every few years or more.

 

I read some negative takes on Before I Wake but I enjoyed it quite a bit. There were a few cheesy scenes and a lot of jump scares, but I felt emotionally connected to the characters and that says something. I also thought it was pretty scary

Blackcoat’s Daughter was pretty rad. Narrative definitely took a back seat to the atmosphere, mostly for the better, although I did find some of the direction a bit distracting for at least the first 1/3. Made me REAL excited to watch I Am the Pretty Thing...I actually didn’t realize it was the same director and at one point I literally thought to myself that some of the scenes reminded me of things I had read about IATPT so I checked the director out and lo and behold..Ha.

 

Watched Mercy last night - it was kinda meh. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it, had a couple standard horror/thriller twists, etc.

one of the actors had a significant role in The Knick and it made me miss that show more than anything heh

 

Never got a chance to see it so taking advantage of The Final Girls 99 cent rental on iTunes.

The old Bill Paxton movie? I don't think I've seen it since I was a kid, but I remember it being pretty wild. I'll have to revisit it.

 

Yeah it was insane I loved it

 

I'm gonna rewatch it soon because I only remember bits and pieces, and I probably didn't truly appreciate it seeing it at like age 11 or something.

edit: Tongue in cheek horror/comedy when done right is some of my favorite stuff though.

 

Did I have a stroke or am I actually watching a remake of Cabin Fever. How the fuck do you have a remake of something less than 20 years old. How, at least in the first ten minutes, is this essentially a goddamn shot for shot remake of the original. Why would anyone do this. Why not just make a shitty 4th film in the series instead of remaking the original. What kind of world is this.

 

Rewatching Cabin in the Woods. Man, I fucking love this movie.
