Has anyone else watched Jordskott? It's not horror, more fantasy than anything, but I figure I'd ask here since it's on Shudder.

 

Yo Hereditary is getting amazing buzz

 

Watched Mom and Dad, total blast and really well-edited, makes me want to go watch Crank 2

The Devil's Candy was a huge surprise, wasn't expecting some of the imagery and swaths of red, reminded me of Lords of Salem at times but without that film's cheesier tendencies. Didn't know until after that it was from the same director as Loved Ones which I also adore

I watched The Vault last night. It’s weird, I didn’t hate it, but it made no sense to me.

Yea, I was in the same boat. It was ok.

 

I really enjoyed the concept of "The Open House," but I absolutely could not stand the actors. Honestly, I hope that they make a second one with better actors.

 

I started this after I finished the Vault, but fell asleep about 15 minutes in.

 

I also watched The Vault and I felt like there was dumb fun to be had, but there was like a middle portion that was terribly boring, character development was not their strong suit.

But for real, a haunted bank heist is like the best (dumb) idea ever and got me so excited, haha.

 

Oh man, that's weird for me to see, I honestly thought the acting made the movie for me. All of the fake out scares were super by the book but I was really impressed with the kid and the mom.

 

Started out pretty damn solid. But the whole twist with Franco’s character and the actual ending made no sense whatsoever. Also, why was the guy a ghost haunting the bank, if he technically was never found/got away?

 

Lol yeah the twist was hilarious I was mainly wondering why the fuck is Franco in this movie because he isn't doing anything, and as soon as he made the call I figured it out and was like duh, that's why they fuckin cast him, ha. Like I mentioned it was super dumb which can make for some great fun, but I think they took themselves too seriously for a little bit.

 

I don’t know, it just didn’t seem natural for some reason

 

The kid had a pretty embarrassing scream which I always appreciate, ha

 

Excited to finally see Happy Death Day, although I was slightly more excited before realizing it was directed by the same guy who directed Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (which I was largely disappointed in)

 

It's a lot of fun if not much else, absolutely worth watching if you like well done teen slashers

 

I really wanted to catch it in theaters, definitely looks like it's got the right level of camp value that I'm always looking for

 

Happy Death Day was pretty great. Definitely worth a watch.

 

I snagged a few of the Mondo Universal monster posters. Damn those went fast. I’m bummed I didn’t get my hands on a Frankenstein one.

 

Happy Death Day was fun for sure. I feel like the good parts were really good, but if anything threw me off, there were a couple times where the tone of the film would shift pretty jarringly. I just felt like some of the goofier stuff in the middle and the emotional stuff with her parents wasn't totally necessary. Still a very solid watch

 

Watched Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon last night for the first time in years. Forgot how much fun that movie was. My wife had never seen it. I think she enjoyed it.

 

yeah I really wanted to grab some of those but I've spent too much recently haha. I think The Wolfman one may have been my favorite of the posters.

I know nothing about the sequel, but I'm always interested to see what Flanagan does.
