So, I didn't know the animal cruelty in Cannibal Holocaust was real. I hate this movie.

Yep that movie is awful. I remember first watching it knowing that as a teen and I guess watching out of curiosity and I've never watched it again. So unnecessary and not even a good movie aside from that imo

I mean I expected it to be gory and offensive, which I can handle...as long as I know it's fake! I didn't even know you could get away with animal cruelty in movies. How naive I was!

I think that was before there rly were animal cruelty laws. Dont think they'd get away with it now (I hope!!)

Friday the 13th killed a real snake. Was furious when I learned that years ago (still furious about it)

i may get better but we won't ever get well Prestigious

even Apocalypse Now, which was American and '79, featured animal cruelty and didnt get in trouble cause it was shot in the Philippines. but i understand why that's a breaking point for folks

The Italians were well known not to give a shit about safety and cruelty back in the day.

yeah they have the whole "no animals were harmed" thing now after Heaven's Gate I believe, occasionally something like Luck will happen but it's rare

Not sure if it falls into horror, but The Babysitter sucked.

incorrect, Babysitter is a total blast and very aware of how goofy it is. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys campy B movies. Great cinematogrphy, bold sense of colour and style and the outlandish sense of humour was endearing

Even moreso, Haunters was totally worth the rent on iTunes. One of the best documentaries I've ever seen, every horror fan or anybody interested in the psychology of fear should watch it

Agreed with Babysitter. Me and gf watched it last night. We were definetly entertained.

Been watching a little bit of this, little bit of that to get my monthly horror fix. Watched Halloween III: Season of the Witch for the first time and cult classic, sure, but it was so kooky and off-the-wall and full of plot holes I couldn't help but just laugh my ass off by the time it was done.

Watched The Invitation. Loved it - oddly sad, somber feeling film that actually felt really well-paced for how slow it seemed. Next was The Devil's Candy, which was great, especially for how short it was. Just straight to the point. Watched Heathers this morning, not exactly horror, but feels kinda like a horror-comedy in many ways and it's a classic so it felt right. (plus I love Winona so *shrug*)

Not sure where to go next, but I'm thinking Raw and The Babysitter are on the list.

  21. I'm watching Troll 2 right now and boy am I glad! Also, it turns out I only live like an hour away from where they filmed it. Sweet! Haha

  22. Treated myself to special edition packaging versions of Krampus (glow in the dark) and The Fly (exclusive artwork). Couldn't pass up the former for $10 and a 2-disc collector's edition of the latter for $5.

Watched The Babysitter this morning. I thought it was hilarious. Literally laughing out loud by myself at 6AM, had to try to shut up to not disturb neighbors. Just a good time overall and the over-the-top gore was a blast. Not sure what to watch tomorrow. Toss up between Raw, The Houses October Built, A Dark Song, and The Void.
