I didn't realize people still liked the Scary Movie series. I may have conflated it with the spoof movie trend it started that took like 15 years to go away... If it even has?

 

Scary Movie definitely my favorite. Stopped watching after the third.

Scary Movie 2 is great

 

Scary Movie 1 was okay at best. The rest plain out suck

 

1 is great despite being like 92% Scream, 2 is fun, and the rest aren't worth our conversation.

 

i've never liked parody films. satirical horror, a la scream or behind the mask, is great, but art build fundamentally around parody rather than deconstruction has never appealed to me

how was Cult of Chucky? i'm sure a few of you guys watched the leak. i've only seen the first Chucky movie. not sure about the others...

 

Yessssss more Madea

 

i watched the first Madea Halloween movie a few weeks ago. I actually laughed my ass off a couple times, surprisingly. "...Did ya die?" that shit killed me.

 

Do you think the Halloween Madea movies are canon?

People have all kinds of opinions about Tyler Perry movies but I fucking love the character of Madea haha

Hearing good things about Gerald's Game after its premiere at Fantastic Fest. Sounds like Carla Gugino's performance is top-notch. I'm generally a fan of Mike Flanagan, so I'm looking forward to it.

I watched it over the weekend. Really good (and creepy) I thought!

 

I liked It Comes at Night. Couple things bugged me too many dream sequences, and two gun reversals in a row? come on. I'd been watching Walking Dead recently and this seemed like such a masterpiece in comparison (only reason I am comparing the two is the post apoc/ humans are worse than the apocalypse, thing)

 

I thought there were supernatural elements but I think it's more slasher, I just love the idea of Madea fighting ghosts

 

Yeah I gotta watch it again but for some reason that I totally don't know what the reason is, I watch madea movies after smoking lol

 

The only effective thing that came from your first spoiler is that I wasn't sure if certain people/person were/was actually sick.

 

Yep, it was especially effective near the end.

It was really fucking good actually.

 

My local arthouse theater is in the middle of a Carpenter series and they showed it last weekend. Super great to see it on the big screen
