really enjoyed bone tomahawk. still need to pull the trigger on raw.

watched tales of halloween, scream 3, the keepers, and spotlight this weekend. last two aren't horror per se, but then again, they involve horrific acts so it's worth mentioning. still sickened by it all tbh.

 

I can't believe the guy who wrote and directed Bone Tomahawk, that that was his directorial debut. Pretty impressive.

 

Bone Tomahawk was great. That one scene is forever cemented in my mind

 

I had no idea Bone Tomahawk contained some horror elements. I'm in.

Well...I'm watching Clown. Lol. Peter Stormare is awesome tho.

Update: Overall I was pretty satisfied. I wonder what could've been done with a bigger budget. It's quite obvious that most of it was used during the last scene. Don't get me wrong, great scene, but it's weird how the beginning played like an after school special and the end played like a box office hit.

 

I've been trying to see Beyond the Gates since last year, and Netflix Canada just got it so I was finally able to check it out. Have any of you guys seen it?

fun movie. really appeals to collectors i think, and it made me wanna play an old vhs board game. the plot is kinda clunky but i had a blast watching it.

Honestly, a little let down. It's a cool premise and perhaps you'll like it more, it just didn't do much for me.

 

I'm with you. The premise alone brought all sorts of ideas to my mind, and so it's not really fair of my to expect the movie to fulfill those ideas, but I do wish they combined the board game world and the real world more explicitly. Like, a very similar movie could have been made without the board game aspect. That being said, I did like that it felt like an extended Are You Afraid of the Dark episode. I wouldn't be surprised if the filmmakers had that in mind as well

 

We should probably be expecting a trailer soon. 4 months away.

 

The Void hits Netflix in July 6th. Just in case anyone wanted to see it still, save your funds!


Castlevania is hitting the next day. I'm super excited to see it. I loved the games growing up, so much material to draw from. I hope that it embraces the horror and tries to be scary as opposed to a just straight action/adventure series.

 

Oh cool , you probably saved me some money, I've been meaning to check it out.

 

We knew it was targeted for this, but IT has officially received an R rating. Makes me happy
