As with any anthology, some of episodes fare better than others. If you love Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt, it's worth the investment - though it's not as strong as either of those. Lots of good guest stars and talented creatives involved.

    How's beyond the gates?

Also I need a good Christmas horror list that doesn't include rare exports or krampus

I thought Beyond the Gates was a lot of fun. Here's my review.

Okay so Neon Demon was pretty but I just couldn't get into it. My attention span is always suspect, so maybe I need to watch it again. They'd clearly done what they did to younger Fanning many times, so why'd the one girl suddenly become remorseful and puke?

  16. Knock Knock was never very good, but the ending was...laughably bad. Then again, I don't know what possessed me to rent an erotic thriller directed by Eli Roth. Blech.

I liked it for the most part. I think it's Roth's strongest work from a filmmaking point of view (but Cabin Fever remains my favorite). But Keanu reached Nicolas Cage levels of camp.

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

Keanu's acting in Knock Knock was INTENTIONALLY bad, right? It felt very put-on, which made it hilarious.

A Christmas Horror Story was pretty good!

Silent Night Deadly Night 3 was the dullest thing ever

I do quarterly round-ups of the best new horror movies on Netflix for my site. The new installment posted today. I'd love your input. Maybe you'll find something new to check out.

Think I'm gonna check out The Good Neighbor, Sun Choke and A Christmas Horror Story over the next day or two. Thanks for the write up!

My pleasure! Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think of them.

  24. Yeah, Keanu was rough (and I like him), but I also realized that the script only gave him so much to work with. Aside from the half-baked "moral" aspect of the film (which got more annoying hearing Roth try to explain it in the Making Of), I really just hate that he can't resist a "wink-wink-nudge-nudge" moment at the end of each of his films - even the self-proclaimed "serious, psychological" one.

Heh, on my list I actually made a note next to The Good Neighbor, "not a horror." Definitely a thriller, and one of the best movies I saw this year though

Edit: seriously if you haven't watched, go do it
