I remember doing a presentation on Eli Roth in the fourth grade. The assignment was "People who inspire me," and all I had seen by him was Cabin Fever and the special features on that DVD (this was about a year after Hostel came out). But I had read and seen a bunch of interviews with him and was infatuated by how much this guy clearly loved horror and filmmaking, and I thought he was so cool for that. Even now, I think about him really positively, but when I actually look at his filmography, he hasn't really done anything since Cabin Fever that I've loved. I certainly had fun with Knock, Knock and The Green Inferno, but I feel more of an attachment to the person than the movies he makes, it seems.

That's cool you got to do a report on him in 4th grade but now I feel old as Cabin Fever came out when I was in college

I haven't watched the Hostel movies since they came out but I've been meaning to rewatch for my boo Jay Hernandez. I only remember the eyeball scene. I don't like Eli. I am pretty sure I posted this exact comment the last time Eli was brought up lmao.

rn I'm gonna watch Return of the Living Dead II tho

Their zombies are really charming. like if I were to be a zombie extra in a movie it'd be in ROTLD! they're all goopy.

As a kid I remember liking part 2 over the first one. I need to revisit those

Watched a Danish flick called What We Become last night. Decent zombie movie, good moments of tension, another child doing things that makes me not want kids.

You guys hear that Max Landis is writing and directing a remake of An American Werewold in London? I'm interested. I'm thinking about who is like to see as David and Jack

I don't think it really needs a remake, but the fact that it's Landis has me optimistic. From what he's said it doesn't sound like his take will be much different.

Did we ever answer the question, why did Eli Roth remake Cabin Fever?

he was only connected by production and having written the original script (which was reused, except trimmed down). tbh why he would even do that is beyond me, it sounds like he had wanted to produce a sequel and it fell through so they moved to a remake instead. sounds like one of the most soulless productions ever.

    Doing fine. Prestigious

I liked Chronicle a lot. The only other movie I've seen that he's written is Mr. Right, which I wasn't a fan of, but isn't really my normal kind of film. It looks like this will be his first major directorial gig. We'll see how it goes.

I think we all need to start praying to Satan that they use practical effects and not go CGI. There's no way they'll have a big enough budget to make the transformation scenes impressive.
