  5. Don't want to be a bummer, but Ice Cream Man already exists (and rules) and anything Roth gets a hard pass from me after his nonstop defense of Israel

  6. that and also his other films just don't appeal to me. hah, Borderlands...

Can’t say that I rolled my eyes nearly as dramatically as I expected at the Conjuring teaser.

In other news, Ugly Stepsister hits Shudder today. Anyone catching it?

Watching Ugly Stepsister right now! I feel so out of the loop - I didn’t even know about this until a few days ago when my friend asked if I could add it to Plex once it was out. I think I had seen the title in this thread but assumed it was just another shitty Blumhouse thing, haha. Liking it so far.

I gotta say…I usually hate movies this mean and this blunt, but I really loved this? Got by on the vibes big time but that’s not a bad thing, especially if it meant I was able to look past some stuff that might have bothered me otherwise! Absolutely loved the aesthetic, loved the soundtrack, loved how gross it was. Hope you all enjoy it too and I'm excited to see what this director does in the future because it's a very impressive debut imo.

  23. Loved The Shrouds. Ending was abrupt, but otherwise, Cronenberg's still got the juice.

Lots of interesting ideas but yea the abrupt ending really threw me off. Also didn’t like the main character’s performance.

    Everything I’ve watched this week:

Frankie Freako - Gonna be using the word fun for all of these movies but that’s exactly what this was. Got what I wanted out of it.

Pitch Black - A friend talked me into watching this, pretty enjoyable for the most part. Gotta love that early 2000s cgi.

Bloody Axe Wound - Another fun one. Some nice kills. Kinda reminded me of Lisa Frankenstein in a way lol.

Grafted - Pretty much Sissy meets The Substance. Had a good time with it.

Clown in a Cornfield - Pretty good, think I still prefer the book but it like what they did with it. Handled some things better than the book. Had some funny moments too. Really bloody at times but I was hoping they’d go a bit further with it.

The Ugly Stepsister - Took me like 40 minutes to really get into it but it did win me over. Really good performance by the lead. Some great gross body horror if you’re looking for some of that. Really dug the dreamlike score.
