  1. I'm going to abstain from any The Mist / Doctor Sleep discussion

I love The Mist in general personally. I watch it in color or b&w like once a year

To get real for a second though, there is an absurd amount of King adaptations. Like, truly off the wall. Is there anyone else who can hold a candle to the amount of books adapted to screen? It def helps that he lives and breathes writing but goodness me

It’s pretty cool that Flanagan is basically the King guy now

  12. Oh yeah, I've also seen The Green Mile. Like, once. Twenty years ago.

Haven't seen Stand By Me or Shawshank and am a little embarrassed about it

No IT chapter one is wild. That’s a great movie even if the 2nd was butt

    I know, I know.

Creepshow 1 is really boring to me and Creepshow 2 has The Raft which is one of my favorite King shorts and the sequence rules and The Hitchhiker also rules hard.

There's so many! This one was hard to cut though, I really do like it.

Stand By Me is amazing and I feel like the best representation of Kings work on film. It completely nails the horrors of growing up and the whole "something is wrong with this idyllic community and time, but only the kids can see it" similarly to the IT miniseries, but better quality filmmaking. The Shining is obviously the best film out of all of them, but not representative of King.

  20. Off the top of my head, just in terms of enjoyment:

    The Shining (Kubrick film)
    Creepshow
    Stand By Me
    Cat's Eye
    Maximum Overdrive
    Misery
    Carrie (DePalma film)
    1408
    Christine

    Maximum Overdrive rules.

Have you see Trucks, the made for TV version of the same King story from 1997? I downloaded it recently, but haven't watched it yet.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

no discussion of Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot on the last couple pages is wild. but yeah Stand By Me is the best one, captures his nostalgic tone of writing, the interiority he gives every character (that movies almost always hollow out, looking at you Kubrick) and his favourite topic of growing up perfectly. one of my favourite movies
