enjoyed woman in the yard, not sure why it's being so dismissed other than the trailer i guess making it seem more horror-centric than it actually is

  10. i've seen the trailer a few times in theaters but i just now found out the movie Hurry Up Tomorrow is a companion piece to the album Hurry Up Tomorrow by The Weeknd and stars The Weeknd as The Weeknd.

shut up. sometimes i don't know things.

  11. accidentally slept from like 9pm to 4am and my sleep schedule is fucked so I'm about to spend a very surreal early morning rewatching Puppet Master, lol

The 2nd one was pretty disappointing, but I’m cautiously excited for them to try again.

  15. Hell Of A Summer was kind of dull imo, which surprises me based on the trailer. Felt underwhelming in both the comedy and horror aspects. The summer camp aspect of it all felt kinda phoned in. Thumbs up for practical effects though, and I’ll always root for Fred Hechinger. Killer reveal/motive was very Scream 4

  16. Also thought Y2K was fine - I get why people like it and why people don’t. Was bummed Julian Dennison was killed so quickly, didn’t really laugh at a lot after that save for some of the Limp Bizkit stuff. Even if it wasn’t my favorite, it was appropriately Kyle Mooney silly which is always at least charming

The Cut scrubbed any mentions of Melissa's firing as the reason for her departure from the article, but the archived version is still available here. cowards.

Stupid that they even bothered, it’s barely a mention. Jenna’s great and I hope she and Melissa do something together again.

Perfect timing for a double feature with Death of a Unicorn coming to digital the next week!

  24. I don't think anything's blown me away so far this year. I mean, yeah, we're only three, four months in? Stuff like Companion and Novocaine are good fun (and Jack Quaid is in both!) I also enjoyed Presence, Wolfman, Monkey, Opus, and Death of a Unicorn (huh, lots of animals/creatures in titles) but found each of them slightly underwhelming for one reason or another. I still can't believe last year we got I Saw the TV Glow, The Substance, AND First Omen. I'm hoping the rest of this year reaches those heights. But I also hope I'm not over hyped on that new one from the Talk to Me guys

  25. I've enjoyed all six horror-adjacent movies I've seen this year, but particularly Companion, The Monkey, and Heart Eyes.
