Not at all. Some of pretty gruesome but they're mostly barely on screen. My biggest issue was the variance of kills, some of fun and interesting and some pretty whatever.

 

I think the best actress battle between Mikey Madison and Demi Moore is gonna be close next week. And someone tried to tell me Demi wouldn’t be nominated because it was a horror movie and now she’s close to winning an Oscar.

 

The Monkey seems to be even more divisive than Longlegs

 

Perkins mentioned that The Monkey is like a cartoon so it's best going into it with that in mind. Makes it so much more fun

Saw The Monkey on Saturday and thought it was ok, don't think much of the goofiness worked for me personally

 

I liked it more than Longlegs but that’s not really saying much actually

I liked it but it was definitely a bit of a let down. I liked Longlegs considerably more.

 

Oh but I was taking your tastes in movies in general in that situation though.

 

I’m currently reading the stand by Mr King. Very good so far.

 

I read it while I had COVID and that first part hit way different.

 

Need a rewatch so bad.

Just watched Azrael for the first time. That ruled!

 

just got out of The Monkey, wild stuff. not actually as gory as I was expecting based on some of the chatter but the tone shifts were absolutely wild, some of the humour really landed for me and some really, really didn't

overall think I liked it? Tatiana was fantastic

 

Think I'm going to give myself whiplash today by trying to watch Presence while the baby sleeps during the day and The Front Room while he sleeps tonight

 

I loved The Front Room. I don't think it's technically "good" but it was entertaining, and I love Brandy in a horror movie

 

i haven't seen it, but i imagine pairing The Front Room with taking care of your newborn probably isn't the best idea if you don't wanna be sick to your stomach

that’s my thoughts with the movie. It’s not good, it’s not bad. I love Brandy so much and she made it for me.

 

I have a friend whose movie taste I trust a lot and he also specifically used the word s "very entertaining," so I'm going in with those expectations lol
