My opinion didn't really change. Don't dislike it, it just doesn't do anything for me really.

I think I liked it? It was weird but kind of worked for me at the end.

I will watch it again for sure

  8. Randomly tuned into a new one on Shudder called The Dead Thing because I thought there might be a Joe Bob special for Valentine's Day. Kind of interesting but not great, not sure I'll finish it. Erotic supernatural horror.

  9. Nvm, somehow only 25 minutes left so I guess I'm strapping in

Watched the Evil Within, if it was made by anyone other than a meth addicted billionaire oil baron it would be a really bad movie, but he really pulled it off somehow kind of

  12. Finally got around to Blink Twice. it's like Don't Worry Darling meets Get Out. Some scenes are hard to get through. I'm glad I watched it, but I'm also glad I knew about the twist beforehand. I agree with this tiktok I saw saying the trigger warning doesn't do enough to prepare people who might be really triggered by this. The women in this are so good, particularly Naomi and Adria. Tatum gives an uncharacteristically sinister performance (by which I mean he's usually playing likable and charismatic characters so this was an interesting turn for him), Kyle MacLachlan feels out of place, and everyone else is kinda just there. I almost wish there was a little bit of levity, like how Peele always injects humor into his projects, but maybe that kind of thing might be a disservice to the weight of this film's themes. While the final act is very good, I'm not sure how to feel about the last like two minutes of the ending.

I just watched The Strangers: Chapter 1 and The Crow ‘24. Clearly not making decisions remotely close to good or reasonable today.

speaking of Longlegs I kinda wish the movie was called something else because I’d love to see a prequel about the character with that name as the title

Nic Cage is also done with horror unfortunately. So that’s the bigger obstacle.

Sorry, misremembered. Won’t play a serial killer again.**

I don’t know why I thought it was horror in general.

  24. you would think Kiernan Shipkan in a time travel slasher comedy by Nahnatchka Khan would be a slam dunk for me but i didn't enjoy Totally Killer as much as I'd hoped. maybe I was just tired when i started it. i think my only gripe is a lot of the jokes didn't land, they kept using the "oh the 80s were wild and we've progressed so much since then" bit. aside from the lackluster humor tho it was all pretty darn good

hm, rereading this it sounds like i was disappointed. i mean, i am. but only a teensy bit. it's not on the same level as HDD1-2 for me but it was still a fun time. sooo... almost a slam dunk.

  25. Finding out I can typically squeeze a movie in while the baby sleeps at night, but I'm not up to watching anything really new yet, so it's a comfort watch tonight: Friday the 13th Part 2.
