Dolby rocks and IMO is probably the best format to see a movie in outside of true imax

 

Laser projected picture (no bulb in the projector) and like 150 speakers in an auditorium, rumble feedback in the recliners. It rules

 

Oh yeah so I'm probably not the best for that considering I have a headache/migraine 24/7. lol

 

That’s fair! It’s my #1 preference and the main reason I have amc a-list instead of regal unlimited even though the regals around OKC are much much nicer than the AMCs

 

If only these things were around 10 years ago when I wasn't cursed. lol Best we had was fake IMAX and that's with like 15 theaters in a 40 minute radius of me. Unless you count whatever that special screen Cinemarks have.

Interesting. I just assumed everyone liked stadium seating more. No one in front of you can block your view.

 

I used to do the XD all the time and had no idea it was even remotely close to IMAX, so that's cool.

And it's not that I mind stadium seating, it's that they have stadium seating in every theater except the special one. And it's also the biggest AMC around here, so where's all that money going damnit? Give us recliners in every theater, just like the other 8 smaller AMCs have, you cheap bastards.

isn’t that stadium seating with the different levels? that’s what we have at my Cinemark with the recliners, maybe I just don’t know what stadium seating is

 

I thought it referred to the shitty fold down seats they have at stadiums. So just the old seats we had before they graced us with recliners and assigned seating.

 

you’re probably right, I was thinking anything with levels was stadium seating. The theater we had growing up didn’t even have levels. Just flat ground with shitty chairs so if someone was in front of you you couldn’t see.

 

Well we also used to pay a quarter for a ticket and a nickel for a bag of popcorn. We've moved up in the world since then. I'm only 32.

 

I thought this was the horror thread not the theater thread ba-ZING

 

But theaters are where we all throw up when we watch our horror movies.
