Agreed. Also, that movie (along with the likes of Christmas Evil) just have such a grimy aesthetic that will not be able to be recreated properly. It will be given the Black Christmas treatment, and while those remakes definitely have their defenders (totally fine, I get it), it just doesn't really need to exist. Let's pour more resources into more original ideas. We've been on a good run here!

Once again I'll say, a laugh response option would be really helpful

  8. Adam Scott and Andrew Scott should do a movie together, y'know, just to fuck with people.

The soundtrack ruled. Thought the movie was pretty good but not sure how I felt about the last quarter of it.

I understand the criticisms people have with Strange Darling but going in completely blind was such a fun ride at the theater.

Honestly, the only thing I really struggled with in Strange Darling was her making it look like she had been assaulted and the male cop getting his “I told you so moment.”. This wouldn’t have bothered me in a better movie and while I can give Mollner the benefit of a doubt because a precursory look at social media/his AMA suggests he’s a good enough and well intentioned dude, it rubbed me the wrong way.

The twist was obvious within the first five minutes (pretty much as soon as the time jump) but that didn’t really bother me. I found some of the movie sort of boring as the humor or plot beats didn’t always land for me but I really liked how it looked and the way it’s told made the extremely basic plot more interesting than it would have been otherwise. Overall, I had a good time but with reservations.

Of course it's at the theater I prefer the least, which is the AMC I prefer the least, and it's not even playing at my Cinemark, which would be my 2nd choice. Woe the fuck is me. lol

Is Dolby Cinema worth it? Don't really know what it is honestly because I rarely go to that least favorite theater anymore. It's the biggest AMC we have, so it gets pretty much everything from blockbusters to indies, but all the individual theaters except the special one is stadium seating. But if Dolby Cinema isn't anything special, I'm not driving over there even if it is recliners.

  24. Dolby is really loud, I had a bad experience and left halfway through Dune 2 (tho tbf I'd just had my blood drawn and wasnt feeling well). I don't really do IMAX or Dolby anymore despite having A-List

Dolby can definitely be too loud sometimes.
