For some reason I was able to handle the new Hellraiser and Evil Dead/Evil Dead Rise but feel like, from everything I've heard about them, Terrifier and In a Violent Nature would be past my limits, maybe because the former toe the line of being excessively gross without being unnecessarily cruel

 

It’s okay to have limits and say that you don’t feel comfortable about the content of a movie. I personally skipped out on Terrifer 3 after I heard about what goes on in it because I felt like that was a bit much to sit through (something I should’ve been upfront about before but I digress). I just don’t think that kind of violence is my thing very much at this point in my life but more power to people who wanna watch it or similar movies like them, that’s your business and I’m not gonna stop you.

 

Has anyone seen this?

 

In a Violent Nature isn’t cruel, imo. I know it’s been compared to Terrifier, but I wouldn’t even put it in the same camp.. pun intended.

 

okay, well, @digitalsea convinced me to watch a clip of the hook kill and that was enough to traumatize me to the point where i'm haunting them after i'm dead so... no thanks, i'm good

 

Haha totally get it. We’re all impacted differently by this stuff. I can watch Terrifier and IAVN and laugh the entire time. Hellraiser, on the other hand, makes me feel anxious, uneasy, and depressed haha!

 

oh that's weird, I can handle Hellraiser.

on another sort of tangent to this, i don't really wanna put myself through anything that's well known for being disturbing. Martyrs, High Tension, basically anything French extremism. I'm glad people like them, but it's really not my thing.

i like rape-revenge movies as a concept, and like, i'm fine with the revenge part, but if the rape scene is infamous for being too explicit i'd rather not

 

Ke Huy Quan only a few weeks ago said he would like to play a villain in a movie and now he gets his chance!!
