I don't think this is quite as deep as people are making it out to be. I'm glad the leads are being outspoken in a time when it's desperately needed, and Leone taking any kind of neutral stance right now is some real loser behavior, but I think it's a stretch to imagine they won't work it out. It's not like Leone outed himself as a giant Trump or Musk guy. It sucks, it's annoying and completely unforced, but it's not quite a Spyglass situation or anything to me.

And if it doesn't work out? I will go where the leads go, not just because they're the real reason to watch the films, but because they seem like great people.

 

This is a broader sentiment, but I am constantly needing to remind myself that real life and the internet are not the same. Not everyone is as radicalized as a lot of folks are on this site, and this doesn't make them evil. I literally work with a QAnon guy lol. If Leone's greatest sin right now is not wanting to alienate anyone (which again, is very lame), I have to remind myself that I don't know any of these people and that he, as much as anyone, deserves the opportunity for further education. Maybe having David and Lauren around will rub off on him. One can hope, anyways.

There’s a new hire at the office and when I asked about movies he said he’s been watching a lot of A24 horror and I hope this means I now have a new friend.

 

I need to give Beau Is Afraid another shot, last time I watched it I was like crazy high and I felt I was watching a man trauma dump through a movie and it made me too uncomfortable to continue on at that point.

Has anyone ever seen Beau is Afraid?

 

i was not high when i watched it and i felt like i was watching a man trauma dump through a movie but it didn't necessarily make me uncomfortable so i did continue. (i liked it but haven't watched it since but need to pick up the Blu-ray since they're not doing a UHD here in the States.)

 

I actually just added Beau is Afraid to my watchlist. Think its on Hulu maybe?

Prime is where I saw it. Might try to start that tonight but I still need to watch Fresh first.

 

Heart Eyes looks kinda booty, but I like that they're going all in on trying to make their new original slasher character a thing. We need more.

Beau is Afraid is fucking awesome. Truly one of a kind nightmare comedy. I think it will get its flowers someday.

 

When I would hang out with my one friend in middle school his dad would usually be drunk and tell us he was an extra in dawn of the dead which was 100% a lie.

 

What a weird thing to compulsively lie about.
