Starry Eyes was good, very scrappy and felt like an independent feature in a good way. Pretty bonkers, haven't seen a lot of body horror in satanic cult movies. The lead was fantastic. I also liked those filmmakers' remake of Pet Sematary, but I think I'm in the minority there.

 

Companion was fun

 

she's been in a lot of Flanagan stuff! which you'd have known if you liked Flanagan stuff!

 

I found it kinda bland personally. Didn’t dislike like it at all, but I really wanted to like it more than I did.

 

just because I like Willem Dafoe doesn't mean I have to like Wes Anderson!

 

First Omen absolutely smokes Immaculate, that movie was not nearly camp or fun enough for a film with "we're cloning Jesus" as the plot lol

 

I really like both, but I’d personally say First Omen is the better of the two.

First Omen was alright. haven't seen any of the others, but there were some great moments and a few others that didn't really do much for me. performances were great though.

 

Immaculate is exactly as fun and bonkers as it should be for that third-act reveal, actually

The First Omen is good, but I definitely prefer Immaculate's whiplash-inducing turn into B-movie territory. That final sequence is insane.

 

You know what movie they’re both better than? The Strangers Chapter 1. Fuck that movie.

thankfully I didn't spoil anything good

 

all good. i still haven't had the chance to see it. it's been sitting in my Hulu watchlist for a bit. excited to watch.

Companion was great! Had a very fun time even if the trailer spoiled me a little bit

 

Just got home after seeing Companion and I am so glad I went into this completely blind because damn that's a great film plus Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid. Don't be surprised if they get cast as the leads in more movies in the near future, they were brilliant in it!!

 

Yeah I'm gonna need that digital release ASAP before the assholes post clips all over social media.
