I don't know why I thought Lin Shaye had passed, but I'm glad that isn't the case.

Also have not heard of The Wretched.

 

It had some decent moments but I didn't love it

 

Find 3-4 other babies, stack them in a trenchcoat

 

you might check, they do those baby screenings at the AMCs around here too

 

It's not the same, but at least VOD releases are super quick now. It's been the only upside to being too broke to go to the theater often, even if it sucks for the industry. Also why I follow digital release dates so closely. lol

 

lol, i don't have a baby, just recommending it to anyone who wants to entertain that option. i also try to avoid AMC as much as possible given their lack of care in their screening procedures, trash problems, loud audiences, and incessant trailers/ads.

 

I hate that AMC is my most convenient theater when I do actually go. Our Cinemark is actually my favorite, but it's 15 minutes further (without traffic) and my friends always whine about it. But to be honest, I don't feel like driving over there anymore either. lol

Also it's kinda crazy how many theater options I actually have when I don't even count going into Philly. 10 years ago, I was bouncing between all of them to see everything I could. Now, a movie plays 20 minutes further than I feel like going, so I watch the movie a month later on plex.

 

According to my Letterboxd, I watched it on Oct 2, 2022 and I hearted it and said "This gave me the heeeeebs." So it must have been pretty good, despite me having no recollection of it haha.

 

at least you're lucky to have options, lol. in State College, we only have 2 locations affiliated with the small chain UEC. they're not terrible re: their projection/sound, but they're severely understaffed and rarely ever show anything that isn't a major blockbuster. was genuinely shocked to see they had showing for The Substance late last year.

 

I’m still a greedy bastard and want an Alamo Drafthouse though. Lmao

 

oh me too. i'd be there all the time. i went regularly to their Springfield location since it opened until i moved to PA for grad school. always fun to pay them a visit.

 

I wish I could go back 10 years and experience a Drafthouse back then. Or maybe film twitter just built it up to this legendary status in my mind back then so maybe my expectations are too high. Idk that it’ll hit the same going for the first time now. Too much has changed.

 

They put one in STL and I haven’t felt the need to go.

 

Lol now I realize you just meant you'd go to Alamo all the time. I need to go to Alamo more but it gets expensive. I only do AMC because A-List makes it affordable but I try to go at nonpeak times because your complaints are 100% valid

 

I remember the Wretched being decent, cool witch design and the characters were charming but it was a little bit boring. would probably watch a sequel

Yes. The last two films have built up his lore quite a lot and the last film left a lot of unanswered questions at the end so this is pretty much what most people want/expect.

 

I definiely do
