they loved it actually

 

Local bar showed The Civil Dead tonight and while only slightly horror adjacent, I loved it a lot. Obviously very funny (I don’t know those guys or their comedy backgrounds) but also incredibly thoughtful and sobering.

With Wolf Man, Presence, and Companion coming out within the next couple weeks hopefully it'll be a great month for new horror

How are we so lucky? Isn't January when studios release all their duds?

 

January has been trending to becoming a big horror dump from studios and it rules.

 

except when the movies are Night Swim and Imaginary (Night Swim could have been worse)

 

Still not sold on Wolf Man being good

 

Definitely the negative association with the word "dump" haha

 

Release date aside, I am still fairly optimistic considering Whannell's track record. I also really dug his Invisible Man and not to blindly assume that he can nail another Universal Monster adaptation, it gives me some good hopes!

 

Hell yeah, I was hoping they'd do something like this with the format.

Thought so too, not sure about the ending though, feels very unresolved

 

I liked the ending, saw the big twist coming but everything ended in an interesting place


Finally saw Nosferatu, it was ok, big freak movie
