it's definitely my favourite version of Laurie and maybe my favourite JLC performance on the whole, she's great in that. Josh Hartnett as her son is just a bonus

 

Usher rewatch:
I always thought Rahul Kohli's and T'Nia Miller's deaths were kinda boring (her girlfriend on the other hand, that was wild). Samantha Sloyan and Henry Thomas, though, those were spectacular, beautiful. Also lolol at the mic stand throw. The 1979 storyline for the middle episodes kinda drags a bit as well. Still, it's strangely entertaining to see how shitty the Ushers are as partners (and fathers). And I love Carla Gugino in this, so tender in certain scenes and so sinister in others.
One more to go. I think I still prefer Hill House and Bly as a whole, but this show is just so fun, in a way those two aren't

rewatched It's What's Inside with some friends and also sober this time, like it even more this time around. so many cool little details and foreshadowing I didn't catch the first time. still wish the ending was a little more wild for lack of a better word but probably towards the top of my list this year anyway

Terrifier 3 was pretty good! definitely the funniest of the series, to the point I was kind of surprised but the last 20 minutes definitely balanced it out, goddamn

felt like Leone took the criticism of 2 to heart and maybe cut a bit too much out of this one? Jonathan dying offscreen but his insufferable uni friends getting an extended death scene especially was a weird choice. if the next film really is Sienna Goes to Hell then I'll probably have less of a problem with some of those choices though. also, loved the Tòm Savini cameo

finished Usher rewatch. last episode is so satisfying, tho I still feel like there were a few too many Poe quotes, it became a little self indulgent. I love love love the scene between Carla Gugino and Kyliegh Curran. I really hope Kyliegh is in more stuff in the future, she's always been fantastic (I hate that D+ canceled Sulphur Springs).
