The People Under the Stairs ruled. Leave it to Wes to tackle gentrification and class like only he can. Legitimately fucked up movie. Also wild to see Ed and Nadine from Twin Peaks both in the evil villian roles. It got a tad bit Home Aloneish at the very end but overall, a solid badass Craven film. Waited way too long for this one

I like Craven but don’t love Craven. If that makes sense

  7. I agree, but even if I don't always love Craven, I certainly respect Craven. My rewatch of The People Under the Stairs will have to wait until tomorrow but I'm stoked

  8. Also I feel conflicted but mostly positive on Blink Twice. Obviously flawed, but just when I was worried about it being surface level satire, it went deeper and darker than I was expecting. Kravitz did a great job directing. It doesn't all add up, but it's honestly a pretty great directorial debut, and man what a cast. Very curious to see how it ages. Zero connection, but I enjoyed it more than Longlegs.

Out of curiosity, why did people not think the trigger warning at the top was enough? I thought it was a thoughtful addition, personally.

The tiktoker I referenced said it should've been "graphic sexual violence" rather than just "sexual violence" bc the entire twist and especially the pov scene really triggered her. Like, (in my words now) she went in expecting Fantasy Island and got Promising Young Woman instead and, while she did like the latter, she was entirely unprepared for that kind of thing she did say she thought the movie was really good tho, just wished the trigger warning was different

  10. I'm worried it'll be too much for me but so far everyone in here seems to think it was fine

  11. I guess I'm not in their position but while I would certainly describe at least one scene as disturbing, I don't think the work "graphic" necessarily applies here, at least in terms of what's shown

It's a solid 7/10 and definitely worth seeing if you can handle the expected level of violence shown in an R&R film

Just watched Viy, which has been on my list forever, and I really adored it. Goofier/funnier and cozier than I expected, and the climax did not disappoint. Loved the titular character so much lol

Oh man did the metaphors fly over my head watching I Saw the Tv Glow. I was so confused when it ended so I decided to read up on the movie. Now that it”s starting to make sense, I’m excited to watch again.

Has anyone seen anything else about this? I don’t remember hearing about this one before.

  24. They def weren't. And I think @digitalsea , who I very much trust and know is a big fan of the series, hated it lol.

So far, I think it's very funny that this country bumpkin-ass rental home has a Joanna Newsom record on the turntable. And while I admit my bias as a Riverdale hater, I don't think Madeline Petsch is a very good actress
