  1. EHC 7: Summer CAMP with Maggie Ignasiak (Horror Advisory)

Wanted to share this new episode of the Eerie Horror Cast, our summer CAMP special. (This is a Spotify link but it should be available wherever.) We sat down with my good friend Maggie Ignasiak who runs the @horroradvisory account on Instagram to discuss what camp is, how it is different in the written form, and four movies we watched: Bubba Ho-Tep, Frankenhooker, Basket Case, and Malignant.

Definitely follow her IG page for insight on queer horror and lots of horror books! She's the best.

I am due for a miracle / I'm waiting for a sign Prestigious

Yeah I still need to see most of them.

But really liked The Endless and wanted some cosmic horror choice but not something so wide and vague as that.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

watching Resolution and then The Endless years later not knowing they were connected is one of my favourite horror experiences ever. the moment when the penny dropped was priceless

Doing Pulse for the first time ever. Every time I watch some early 00’s J-Horror, I wonder why I watch anything else

Pulse has the single scariest scene I've ever seen in my life, the rest of the movie is also really good too

Don’t forget to watch the definitely really good remake. Wes Craven co-wrote it!

I was getting real sleepy with about 45 minutes left but I'm excited to finish it tonight.

Good to know! This is the one with Kristen Bell?

Yeah, but it’s a complete shit. I was joking. Lol

Edit: well it was shit when I saw it almost 20 years ago at least

I’ve never actually seen the original, so I might have to check it out too. I wasn’t as into watching foreign movies back then and I guess it really never came up since, so I kinda forgot about it honestly.

If you haven't seen the originals that spawned the remakes of The Ring, The Grudge, and One Missed Call, I recommend them. Although I still stand behind the remake of The Ring

I’ve seen the originals for The Ring and The Grudge, but not One Missed Call. So I’ll be adding that to the list as well now. Thanks!

The remake of The Ring is good. I attest to that.

The Thing is absolutely up there too. Also worth mentioning:

    Dawn of the Dead
    IT Chapter One
    The Invisible Man
    The Crazies
    The Hills Have Eyes

Just watched Villains and whew what a great film. I am officially obsessed with Maika Monroe. She is beautiful and really damn good on her roles I have seen her in. A true scream queen. Anyone have any suggestions for other movies she's in? I think I've seen It Follows before but planning a rewatch later today either way.
