It works as a standalone, you’ll be fine

 

It would definitely spoil elements of Alien, which would be a shame if you’ve never seen it.

I almost don't want to watch Alien Resurrection because I was so disappointed in A3.

 

I think resurrection, while flawed, is much more fun.

 

There's fun to be had (it's essentially camp/slapstick-horror), but it's a much worse film

 

@Shakriel watched it too last night. I'll be curious to see what they think.

some people enjoy it and godspeed to them, I'd never take that away, but to me it's a mess in the ugliest way. tries to split the difference between a studio friendly Joss Whedon script and weird French arthouse direction and comes out borderline incoherent. it's like the highest budget student film ever made lmao. Winona Ryder and Brad Dourif almost make it work, but it's just a dog's breakfast to the core. my two cents

 

yeah I’ve never been shy about the things I hate but I’ve never wanted that to take away from anyone else’s enjoyment of those things

 

The quality of these films seems to get better with every entry.
