they by no means loved it, but they didn’t hate it either.

 

A buddy of mine had the Walmart Steelbook for The Crow preordered and went to go see it on Sunday. He cancelled the preorder after he got out of the movie. It is also worth mentioning that he also saw Borderlands and kept his preorder for that Steelbook so make of that as you will.

 

Borderlands hits digital on Friday, so he should have plenty of time to reassess that preorder decision.

 

Pre-ordering steelbooks for things you haven't seen is wild to me. I wait for Target sales to buy newer blurays and even then it's only stuff I've already seen in theaters

just seems senseless to me

 

Aside from dvds under five bucks, I've done blind buys from vinyl clearance bins at Urban Outfitters during their "extra 40% off" sales but that's about it

 

It might just be that the friend wants to make sure they have a copy claimed that they can just cancel after they go see it and know. Or do steelbooks not really sell out much anymore?

 

It’s worth noting that Steelbooks are the big movie collecting trend at the moment and it’s not uncommon for people to preorder them in advance. Plus the main reason my buddy preordered it was due to how cool it looked lol

I own literally none

 

I have steel books of Mandy, Alien: Covenant, and Skinamarink, all sick as hell. They're fun. Not necessary for everything, but a cool collector's item.

Blind buys can also be fun, but I tend to do my research on the movie/album first

 

It’s gotten really bad since all the retailers stopped carrying movies I’ve noticed, every major release has one.

 

My wife is obsessed with steel books and I don’t like them, but I get them to make her happy.

 

I think my only horror steel book is the original Halloween

 

I vaguely remember the announcement for WandaVision steelbook initially not having the actual show

 

My Evil Dead remake Steelbook from Target and my It Follows Steelbook are my two personal favorites.

 

I have some random steelbooks because that was whatever was on offer for a particular movie/show at the time. have never gone out of my way tho

 

I have some random movie and video game steelbooks, but it was mostly because those were just an option and they usually look cool as hell. I thankfully never jumped on collecting them. My collecting habits are bad enough. Lol

 

My god Alien 3 was terrible. If it wasn’t for the gory kills this movie would be straight garbage.

 

don’t blame Fincher tho, blame the studio

 

and yeah it’s terrible imo

 

I've got Jaws, Slumber Party Massacre, Halloween (1978), Halloween (2018), Halloween II, The Howling, Night of the Demons, Pumpkinhead, Sleepy Hollow, Fargo, Clueless, Totoro, Men In Black, Popstar, and The Matrix.

I guess like them.
