I personally did not like the Pet Sematary remake at all. Did not feel creepy, very disjointed and the acting didn’t really sell me.

The greatest parts of the original movie were the visuals, and the actor who played the bicyclist Victor. Neither of those stood out to me in the remake.

Yeah I did not enjoy it either.

Like, especially the flash scenes of Mrs. Creed’s sick sister still fuck me up to this day.

Pale scalpel Gage. Creed’s resurrected wife’s head oozing before the final frame of the film. Victor’s warnings on the trail.

I might be willing to say Pet Sematary 89’ is the best King adaptation to date. Yes, I do love the Shining, but Kubrick’s film is a far cry from the book. PS89 dropped a few details but overall, King’s work is there and the creepiness it instills is level with the book.

Best king adaptation is Maximum Overdrive, duh.

I mean, who doesn’t like a kids head being popped by a steamroller?

It’s Misery for me too, but Silver Bullet is a close contender for me.

and now that haunted has been brought up, it reminded me the gay conversion therapy episode.

I gotta give Haunted a run. Usually I’m not into those “true story” reality shows, but this one looks a little more intense.

    I’m a sucker for them

the first episode of the latest season made me say “what the fuck” so many times. It’s so sad.

I can’t believe I forgot Misery. Definitely right up there with Pet Sematary.

Btw I was absolutely kidding about Maximum Overdrive...even though I love it. Not counting The Shining, The Mist and Pet Semetary are my favorite king adaptations.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I know we're in the horror thread here but Stand By Me is my favourite King adaptation by a mile, always will be

Flanagan's Doctor Sleep was a ripper too though

  16. Rewatching Fried Barry because I had family over during the Last Drive In episode and it's borderline unclassifiable, absolutely batshit fun

I'd like to rewatch Psycho Goreman and American Mary on Shudder this weekend, but always nervous during Last Drive In season.

My girlfriend is a bigger SOTL fan than me and when I told her I ordered this, she ordered one to send to her mom

I’m putting together a slasher marathon for me and my cousin (the only person I know who loves movies as much as me). Series excluded are Friday, Halloween, Nightmare, Candyman, Child’s Play, Scream, Texas Chainsaw, etc. Basically any series where I’ve seen at least two of them. Any suggestions? And tips on the best of lesser known franchises (Slumber Party Massacre, Leprechaun, etc) are much appreciated!

Just Before Dawn, Madman, and The Burning are good camping/camp slashers. Definitely Slumber Party Massacre 1 if you haven't seen it, 2 if you want to be like wtf for 75 minutes. Terror Train and Prom Night if you still want some JLC. My Bloody Valentine is really good. House of Wax if you're looking for a mid-00s teen slasher.
