Not horror but we watched the Nic Cage Bad Lieutenant tonight at the local bar movie club and holy shit what a Werner Herzog detective procedural fever dream

 

The local bar movie club sounds rad as fuck

 

I’m a little biased but it really is. My favorite bar started a monthly movie club and so far we’ve done Phenomena, But I’m A Cheerleader, and Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans. Next up will either be Jawbreaker or Possession

 

It gets enough juice just by being a Halloween and Carrie ripoff to be worth a watch, but ultimately Prom Night is a dud. The first kill is off screen and the second doesn't come until over an hour in and none of them are very interesting. The killer is lame and generic. The suspense is lacking, but there sure is a lot of dancing to make up for it. Also JLC's brother and boyfriend look way to much alike, I thought some really weird shit was going on for a second.

 

I'm the same and I thought The First Omen was amazing. It's my favourite horror of the year so far too.

 

what a great run of films.

 

Watched Warning: Do Not Play, nothing ground breaking but a felt like a classic horror fan’s kind of movie.

In A Violent Nature definitely has a kill that's going to be in the running for best kill of the year, although I already know Terrifier 3 will probably do something insane
