  1. got a trailer for this last night before Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, had not heard about it previously. Tone seems all over the place

  2. Got it before Furiosa and also thought I hadn't heard of it, but I was already following the thread for it here, ha. Could be cool, and I'll see anything with Alia Shawkat.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

just watched No One Gets Out Alive on Netflix cos I heard it's in the same universe as The Ritual, they're based on books by the same person and NOGOA has a quick easter egg about the hikers in Sweden. definitely not as good as The Ritual, it's missing that Bruckner touch but still pretty good. the monster design is absolutely insane and really unique just like Jotunn in the Ritual

Had no idea it was based on the Nevill novel. I've only read The Ritual but I loved it. The movie was great too.

I haven't read either book but I have seen people say both adaptations change the endings significantly. I love The Ritual though, one of the best horrors last decade for me

  6. First Omen is really good but Immaculate is a lot of fun in its own way

Our city is blessed to have two.

One has three screens and the other has two.

First Omen is, IMO, the best horror released this year so far. Immaculate is worth a watch too, I’d just space them out a bit.

Got Saturday 930PM tickets for IAVN because that’s when Alamo is doing their showings (other than an open caption 340 at Sunday). I always do early shows, hope I can stay awake — will have to nap before or something.

  13. Immaculate is my favorite horror of the year so far if you don't count I Saw the TV Glow (I do), which is my favorite film of the year so far. It is, at the very least, horror-adjacent.

  14. We have a drive-in but it's relatively family-friendly, I doubt it would show there

Seeing In a Violent Nature Sunday at Music Box, only night it’s in the big theatre I think. Really hyped.

Well based on your feelings on Immaculate and Possession, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised (re: First Omen). But I also thought you’d like Abigail more so take what I say with a grain of salt, lol.

  21. Hell yeah. Not huge on religious horror or the original tbh, but based on what I've heard, I'm optimistic!

Also, I should rewatch The Dark and the Wicked.

I’ll give Flanagan some credit. He’s saving us from the trilogy at least.
