oh I've heard great things about this one. been meaning to check it out when I get Netflix again!

Archive 81 was also sick speaking of shows Netflix cancelled after one season lmao

  2. It's not without its duds, but yeah, a lot of it has aged shockingly well and it's a perfect before bed show for me.

a lot of complaints, but I really did like the film more than I didn't lol. I just had some problems with it. I don't think every new horror-comedy needs to try to emulate Scream in its structure.[/QUOTE]

Totally fair! I can even relate to and validate a lot of this. Still really enjoyed it though

Edit: not sure how I messed this up but I was quoting @Aaron Mook and the reaction to Abigail haha

Definitely still a lot of fun. For whatever reason, I prefer Ready or Not and Scream 2022 to Scream 6 and Abigail. But it's not like a major gap in quality or anything

  6. I kinda think the thread overrates Deborah Logan a bit, but Jane Doe is very fun

  7. Channel Zero definitely an underrated gem of a horror show. Penny Dreadful is another great one. Kingdom is probably my favorite in the zombie genre. Hannibal goes without saying.

I'll also mention The Exorcist, From, and Evil. Not as great as the ones I mentioned above, but they're all fun and easier for casual viewing.

Oh! Also S1 of The Terror and Brand New Cherry Flavor were both very cool and unique in their own ways.

Favorite horror series: Channel Zero was great (especially the second season imo), Creepshow series, Flanagan series, Slasher is dumb and fun with some really great kills and gore, Penny Dreadful, Servant. Chucky, Ash vs Evil Dead

The X-Files episode "Home" scared the shit out of me and is still one of my favorite pieces of Horror in general.

Servant was really good for something recent.

Watched Immaculate. It was…as dumb as I expected it to be but I don’t know that I had as much fun watching it as I had hoped. I appreciated the pacing and length though!

You're Next is really good, honestly better than I remembered. Thinking about mapping out and doing an Adam Wingard/Ti West/Simon Barrett run of all of their horror features

I forgot Joe Swanberg was in this, lol

  19. Bad Taste is fucking awesome. Been on my list forever. Not only does it inform Jackson's later films, but you can feel the Raimi influence while also seeing the influence it had on Wright's Cornetto trilogy. Such a weird and fun ambitious concept for a first-time filmmaker.

It really is fun thinking about the parallels between Jackson and Raimi, from the DIY horror comedies to the beloved blockbusters they made. We're lucky to have them
