I've only seen Eastern Promises and Crimes of the Future (and Infinity Pool by his son) but I do like Crobenberg(s)

I was getting him mixed up with Soderbergh for a sec and thought he directed Unsane

 

The Toxic Avenger on The Last Drive-In! Talk about a movie you couldn't make today, lol.

Also watched a very short low-budget one that's been on my radar for years called Splinter. Shaky cam, but awesome practical effects. Glad I didn't give up on it early. It's got a bit of Evil Dead in it and uses the same third act as Tremors 2, lol

 

Splinter is a hidden gem for sure

 

it’s a one and done for me. Garland isn’t too interested in what causes the war. Unless I missed it. The sides are vague and maybe that’s to amplify the horrors we see but I found that frustrating. And the character’s story arcs about end up where you expect from the start.

Really, it just scared me because of the realism of it all but I walked away thinking how I want Garland to just return to horror/sci-fi ‍♂️

 

I was hoping there was a weird twist for it but it just seems like the story is pretty straight forward (after looking at wikipedia lol)

 

I have a controversial opinion.

I loved Night Swim.

Hearing pretty good things about Sting.

 

Sting looks dumb and fun. Should be a good time to see that one in a theater with an excitable crowd

Trying to squeeze in I Saw the Devil today, but I'm supposed to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 tonight with a friend (her first time) and people on this site are gonna be mad at me if I don't finish Heat today lmao

 

Yeah it was mindless and fun for what it was!

think I am slowly wearing down my non-horror friends about seeing Abigail simply by mentioning it at every possible opportunity

 

I keep pestering my friends so we can order tickets for Abigail but then I check the seating and Thursday-Sunday is basically wide open for every showing. Really bums me out to see it not get much traction here opening week.

But I’m excited nonetheless because I already know it’s going to be extremely my shit

 

Trying to watch exorcist believer and it's so dark I can't see anything
