Lisa Frankenstein is on Peacock. Watched it again this morning. Such an enjoyable watch every time!

I’ve had House of Leaves on my shelf for like 3 years now. I’m not ready for it yet lol

The Blackcoat’s Daughter really highlighted a lot of my issues with religious horror, but also it’s still bothering me because of the music. Like boring scenes of two people talking had this dread inducing music, that isn’t scary! Give me something to be scared of!

Blackcoat's Daughter is a favorite of mine. I know it doesn't work for a lot of people though

Are any of the Children of the Corn sequels worth watching?

Keep in mind, I love stuff like Pumpkinhead 2, Night of the Demons 2, Pet Sematary 2 etc.

I've never heard anyone discuss the Corn sequels though.

I guess I need this to go with my signed copies of WNUF and Out There Halloween Mega Tape.

I had a lot of problems with it but I did still like it. Great performances all around and the kills were executed so well. I think I’m hasher on movies with a few flaws in my mind than ones that are just bad.

  9. I do like the idea of a House of Leaves movie that doesn’t really attempt to do exactly what the book does, but expands on its themes in a way better fit for film

  10. It's really fun if you haven't seen it yet. Might have to grab that one of those copies of Hollowgate.

  13. Lisa Frankenstein was awesome. Had a really great time with that. Stellar physical comedy from Cole Sprouse. Always been hit or miss with Kathryn Newton but I think she has me sold by the end. Perfect amount of “it’s the 80s!” without totally beating a dead horse. Ending definitely threw me off though - not often do movies actually go there with suicide being portrayed in a weirdly positive way

  14. Fwiw, I think it's a little different given it's a comedic take on Frankenstein

  15. But yeah, I LOVE Newton and also love that there are plenty of references to certain time periods without outright saying anything. Looks modern at times without cell phones, filled with 80s and 90s style. Makes it feel timeless in a weird way.

Lisa Frankenstein was a fun movie. Liza Soberano character was the best part.

  18. House of Leaves is my favorite book of all time, and I love Nolan, but I don’t think he’s the right person to direct that. I really have no idea how anyone would go about it as a whole (even the scripts Danielewski himself wrote for a TV adaptation are pretty bad in my opinion), but I do think Kyle Edward Ball could make the fictional movie that the book is about.

  22. I’m assuming it’s gonna involve children but Art already did that in All Hallows Eve so who knows

    I’ll be seated regardless lmao
