This dedication in horror writer Stephen Graham Jones’ new book damn near made me tear up. I’m such a fucking nerd for horror, man.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Damn, I absolutely hate this. The legend of this movie with it being the only one Laughton ever made…just leave it as is.

It was also remade in the 90s and stunk then too

The First Omen is getting pretty positive social reactions so far. Just sharing this one because she went more in detail

  10. Yeah that's pretty surprising, might have to check it out

Loved Nell Tiger Free in Servant but I feel like First Omen will be an at home watch for me

  14. Late Night With the Devil was, unsurprisingly, a great time. Some of the digital effects were kind of lacking, but the practical effects definitely made up for them. Dastmalchian is awesome and the decision to include behind the scenes footage for exposition really worked for me. Definitely feels like a faster-paced Ghostwatch or a more unsettling, less cozy WNUF Halloween Special.

Came out yesterday! Read the first chapter so far and it kicks off nicely.

  16. We've talked about it before, but I wish Letterboxd had a way to sort movies based on wide release instead of premiere date. Just thinking about my list at the end of the year (I know) and it bugs me so much that Late Night With the Devil won't show as a 2024 film.

Yeah it should clearly be the date it goes available to the public

I have the same annoyance when critics list movies that haven't been released yet on their year end lists

I always have a bunch on my lists with the wrong year because I go by UK release mostly. So far my 2024 list has 6 2023 and 5 2024 lol.

I still haven't see it, does the "it feels like a point and click PC game" criticism hold true?

I did not once feel like I was supposed to click through it lol.

  22. Speaking of Letterboxd, I wish there was a way to sort your Diary date from oldest entry to newest, so I can quickly see when I first posted on there.

  23. this is a very specific criticism that very few people will relate to lol it looks fine and very much not like a video game

Satanic Hispanics is a pretty fun anthology. Demian Rugna's segment is easily the best one for me.
