Did Grabbers and Scary Movie (1991) last night. Both fun! Grabbers really surprised me, genuinely funny and charming with a really great Aliens homage at the end. The execution in Scary Movie is...occasionally off, but it's a goofy good time and accomplishes something I've always thought about until Bodies Bodies Bodies, what I'd call the "accidental slasher."

For pre-Scream 90's I definitely remember Leprechaun. I remember watching Child's Play 3 and getting traumatized by the scene where the kid jumps on the grenade. I also remember seeing the Puppet Master movies on cable a lot.

 

Congrats! Huge stuff!

 

I struggle with SA in movies when it's mean-spirited, which I know is a strange way to refer to that subject matter but what I mean is I can definitely handle a well-executed R&R film if I'm in the mood for it. The line for me tends to be how the assault is depicted.

- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
- Prom Night
- The Burning
- 10 to Midnight
- Candyman

Just watched The Prowler this weekend and it's pretty legit. The only other one I haven't seen is 10 to Midnight and that seems like Gourley stretching the criteria a bit. Glad they're finally doing Candyman, but I was hoping they'd just do TCM as a series soon, it's past due for them and probably should've come after Nightmare.

 

I need them to do TCM 2 asap. Lol.

 

Also.. how have they not done The Funhouse yet!?

 

Yeah, The Prowler rules. I also have not seen 10 to Midnight or, strangely enough, Prom Night. The Burning kinda stinks iirc, but it should be fun revisiting most of these regardless. Candyman rules.

Would love for them to do a TCM season, which they did mention covering the sequel(s) in the future, but I don't really need them to go past the 2003 remake, haha.

Pinocchio: Unstrung also. No matter how legitimate it may seem, I refuse to believe this is a real thing.
