Hannibal Rising is a slog. I'll try again to finish it tonight, but it's taking me like 4 sittings to finish.

I still can’t believe Hannibal Rising exists.

Does anyone have horror dealbreakers that they just can't watch because of certain fears or phobias?

Cause mine is anything with flesh eating dogs or anyone getting eaten alive by animals in general. I swear I died that way in another life cause I have an unreasonable aversion to that happening and am skeptical around new pets I meet

Kids tortured and killed and rape are really hard for me to watch or get through

Not that I ever loved it before, but the older I get its absolutely harder to watch kids harmed in movies. I will never watch the Georgie scene in It ever again.

rape is the biggest one for me

any film that shows scene after scene of surgical procedures is hard for me to sit through

  12. I have a difficult time with bludgeoning. Not really a dealbreaker but it’s always the thing that affects me the most, physically speaking anyway

Like the stoning scene in Speak No Evil fucked with me 100x more than the tongue thing

I think over the top gore is easier to watch than something more grounded and realistic violence. Any sexual assault as a major plot point is too much for me.

Absolutely. The scene in Speak No Evil was way too realistic. Made me feel sick and not in a fun way.

Yeah that literally ruined my day the time I watched it

  17. Without spoiling, the thing I can’t handle in movies is exactly what happens at the end of Gerald’s Game. I very nearly threw up reading the book, so there’s no way I’m ever watching the movie.

Saw Friday the 13th for the first time, weird how few hockey mask wearing killers it has

You gotta crawl before you walk.

  20. I feel like the first Hellraiser didn't have a lot of Cenobites

  21. I really just loathe close-up shots of injections, like needles going into arms.

  22. Revisited Underwater. Just a bummer because it's functional and completely watchable and even stylish at times, love Stewart and love the final creature reveal, but everything about it just feels so polished and like a knock-off of Cloverfield. Things happen, but none of it really feels exciting after that first scene. TJ Miller is distracting.

  25. Showed friends Watcher, which they handled pretty well until the end. We've determined that repeated exposure to horror does not boost tolerance. We're still gonna keep watching stuff together tho so that's fun
