  3. Not to harp on it again, but the embargo on Imaginary must be crazy. Showings start at 6:10 here and there's still no aggregate scores lol

Seeing Imaginary at lunch tomorrow, expecting a Night Swim type of situation.

Stopmotion is wild. Very well executed, but I'm not sure I like it? I need a minute to think on it, thematically. Sound design is nuts tho

Edit: yeah I think I like it

Frantically refreshing the website for the local theater every five minutes to see if they’re showing Late Night with the Devil

Just saw Imaginary and wow that was bad

  15. Yeah, seeing comparisons to Night Swimming as opposed to M3GAN.

  16. I finally watched Triangle because it was a blind spot (I kept confusing it with a TV movie called The Triangle) and wow. I kind of called the direction it was going 20 minutes in, but it is ridiculously effective and unnerving for THAT kind of movie in 2009.

At least I had fun watching Imaginary. The story and ideas were there, but my god the writing was so bad lol.

I had a very fun and engaging crowd so I’m happy with it. Night Swim truly is the obly blumhouse I think I straight up don’t like. Even the other bad ones are fun at the bare minimum.

    I’ll watch more of these.

  18. I think thematically Stopmotion falls into the category of horror that deals with women's self-destructive obsession esp wrt craft eg Starry Eyes, Nocturne, (and to a lesser extent The Perfection, but that's not really its main focus, or rather, it approaches it in a different way). Saint Maud also, tho that has more to do with faith than art.

Man, the Halloween franchise really has become the Choose Your Own Adventure gambit.

I love Halloween 1, 2, 4 and 2018. If the show can retain the atmosphere of those then that would be great.

That said, Halloween is THE film franchise to perfectly capture the Halloween season so I don’t mind the franchise never ending

Not sure how this is going to work.

Really wish they were going with a Tales From Haddonfield anthology format.

With an episodic Michael Myers story, the whole "where is Michael hanging out, and what is he doing while not on screen?" thing is going to be more glaring.

  24. Yeah, I love Halloween as much as everyone in here, but a creative reset to me means shaking things up, not going back to the well once again. TV seems like an odd format for this. Feels like it will be more successful with Crystal Lake.

  25. Also watched Intruder last night and my god, what an underrated 80s slasher. The twist isn't anything revelatory, but considering the setting and sheer creativeness of the kills, this one should be talked about WAY more. So much fun, feels so Raimi (they produced and Ted is in it).
