I knew an american remake was coming but did not know that James Watkins was directing. Might actually be on par, or even more bleak, than the original.

It was so Saw-ish. The color grading even reminded me of 2004-2006 era torture porn films. My brain had this movie being released in like 07, so seeing 2002 was quite the surprise.

If a remake of this ever were to occur.. I feel like Villeneuve would be perfect. Prisoners and Silence are so similar in tone.

Yeah Red Dragon is solid. Not to be that guy, but Manhunter is just SO good that it's hard to watch some of the scene for scene stuff and not compare the two. Fiennes is very good, though.

I really should watch Manhunter. wild that story has been adapted three times with the TV show

This is a few weeks after I was gonna show Watcher but forgot my laptop charger and we watched Fear Street 1994 instead.

So we're postponing watching Watcher--again

they handled Fear Street pretty well, though. "Just a slasher," "not that scary." Excited to show them the next two. eventually.
