Might catch Lisa Frankenstein again with our Horror Fest group on Sunday just because I want to give them my money while it's still in theaters.

 

I was hype for this but the tone of that trailer is fucking awful haha. I hope it's just poorly cut and the film itself is good.

 

Lol, yeah, this looks like it could be fun (John Wick via Running Man) but the humor looks like it's targeted at teenaged Deadpool fans (fwiw, I think Deadpool is actually pretty funny/solid) and I'm really not on the Gelman train right now lol

 

Thinking about throwing Blue Ruin on this evening. Been a while since I've watched that one, too.

Really excited for this one. Though I would not recommend reading this full review because I feel like they go too much into spoiler territory, which I think just makes it a poorly written review. Mostly just sharing for the Hunter praise in the tweet.

 

just finished Monolith. was hoping for a bit more but a fun slow burn none the less.

 

Yeah, Wolf Creek was really good. It struggles a little bit with waffling between ultra-realistic serial killer stuff (complete with a realistically abrupt ending) and also making their antagonist a super-skilled big baddie with plot armor, BUT it does both really well, just struggles to land on one or the other. Otherwise, it feels like a super-bleak and naturalistic update to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in some ways. (I am fully aware this film has been out for 20 years and I am just late to the game, lol.) Also, visually, it looks great.

 

Unsure if it it's horror, but I'm halfway through Sunshine now and really enjoying it. Planning on finishing that and Vamp with Joe Bob tonight, and then hopefully squeezing in an Alien and Predator double-feature tomorrow night.

Also need to watch Goldmember lmao.
