I think some of you will probably like it a lot but unfortunately I found Destroy All Neighbors more annoying than anything else. Some of it was really funny and there were a few elements I loved but after the first 15-20 minutes most of the humor didn’t quite land for me, and I thought they sort of overused Vlad.

 

Watching the 30 days of night sequel for the first time. Pray 4 me cause I didn't even know it existed which is never a great sign.

I wonder if they haven’t announced a director yet because James Wan is going to do it, since they’re saying this is the finale of the series.

I forgot to mention I stopped at the TCM gas station while vacationing in Texas! Will post photos later today.

Vacation was amazing, but I am so excited to catch up on movies this weekend.

 

Holy shit that's cool! Is it abandoned? I thought I heard it was turned into like a lunch stop.

 

It's a horror collector's shop and BBQ spot! The guy that owns it is definitely hustling, haha. He was really nice. lots of memorabilia and fun stuff available for purchase. I got a puzzle of the original movie poster and some Creepshow Halloween decorations.

 

Be cool if they get the entire cast back for it

I know I'm super late to this, but here's my 2023 list. Birth/Rebirth hasn't been mentioned much, so I'll recommend that one. A dark, amoral employment of the Frankenstein premise with great performances from Judy Reyes and Marin Ireland. Streaming on Shudder!

I literally just watched Enys Men today and am still processing it, hence why it's thrown in at the 10 spot. One of those movies where I don't fully comprehend it, but I can tell it's great. There's a lot to chew on and ponder with this one. Can't recommend it unless you really like folk horror, 70s film aesthetic, and don't mind a movie that feels more like a dream than a cohesive narrative.

 

Stoked on that Until Dawn news. I trust the director after Annabelle: Creation, and I loved the game. I wonder what options/story time line they choose.

 

Saw One Cut of the Dead last night, not what I expected at all

 

I haven’t watched it yet, but there’s a French remake, Final Cut, from the director of The Artist that’s apparently pretty decent too.

 

One Cut of the Dead is such a blast.

 

I'm not upset about this at all. Last few werewolf movies have been great (The Wolf of Snow Hollow and Werewolves Within)

 

Watching Scary Movie after revisiting the G&R podcast. Obviously problematic, but holy shit I laughed out loud so many times. What struck me this viewing is how much I like Jon Abrahams (Bobby). There’s a few times where he’s playing it pretty straight and I think he would’ve done well in an actual Scream film!
