Going from Gremlins to Martyrs. I love it.

Oh I mean it definitely is! Very funny tho

 

Between 75% on Metacritic, 99% on Rotten Tomatoes and 3.6 on Letterboxd, I feel like I watched a different movie than everyone else for When Evil Lurks.

The first third is strong enough, but besides the solid practical effects and a good set piece here and there, I just don't think this one has a lot going for it. The score/soundtrack was pretty overbearing and didn't really let any scene breathe. The character decisions don't make a ton of sense. The tension isn't really there. Not really sure what I'm missing.

 

Based on the stuff you're describing, I also feel like we watched different movies haha. That's a bummer.

 

Maybe it was re-added after the last time you checked, but this is on Max. My girlfriend put it on a couple days ago and was like WTF?

Finally watched Cobweb last night. Had no idea what the hell it was about before going in - just knew it had Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr. Some truly terrifying scenes in the flick. I could see myself watching it again next year for sure.

I know I’m making assumptions because it’s Fox News, but it’s pretty rich seeing that dude complain about violence in movies when he’s probably the first to say “thoughts and prayers” after a mass shooting

 

These absolute morons can't get the whole concept of "you don't have to participate" through their heads. Don't like abortion? Don't get one. Don't like gay marriage? Don't marry someone of the same gender. Don't like that Target is selling holiday products representing LGBTQ+, Black and differently abled folks? Don't buy the products. Don't like horror movies based around holidays? Don't see a horror movie based around holidays.

It's performative outrage and it'd be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic.

Speaking of snowflakes though, we just had our first flurry in like 2 years for all of 10 minutes and now I’m pissed off again because Spyglass ruined my rumored Scream Christmas movie. Also going to blame @Aaron Mook for putting the idea in my head to begin with right after 6 came out

 

I'm sure you've seen them, but might I suggest Better Watch Out or Silent Night, Deadly Night instead!

 

I have been making strides on my holiday horror list. Doing a make shift Joe Bob episode this weekend with a friend in Pittsburgh - Dial Code Santa Clause and Christmas Evil.

 

Love them both, but a holiday Scream movie is like the most perfect idea. Lol

I think it got mixed reviews, but I am looking forward to downloading It’s a Wonderful Knife on Friday

 

Just want to point out that Romulus has still yet to be confirmed as the title. I’m sure it’s likely, but idk why Variety doesn’t even mention that part

 

MVD has a pretty great sale going that’s gonna end soon. I scooped up 6 blu rays for $50 total
